5 things you hated the most blizzard ever done in wow LIST

RNG gear drops weekly chest- 5 weeks of getting a belt sucks.

Lame pvp gearing system- tons of conquest for a weapon that is 20 levels below my current weapon.

War mode teammate cannot help summon if I’m not in war mode.

Removal of class specific buffs

Removal of Zerker stance.

well certainly not players like YOU.

Well no, players like me are willing to help out guildies wherever possible. Its shouldn’t be up to pugs to carry deadweight in raids.
I don’t know you. You could be the unfriendliest player in WoW history.
If you’ve reached max level and decided you’re going to attempt to raid, you should at least be able to prove you’re capable of raiding so you don’t impact on those around you.

  1. all the boring systems. Feels like gimmick.

  2. lock flying behind rep. Like how some turtles could determine if I can fly or not??

  3. almost all gears are soulbind and make it impossible to gear alt (for me).

  4. alt pvp is impossible

  5. DPS queue is tooooooo long. Sometimes it’s longer than the actual playing time.

I really liked that I used to be able to put on a specific tabard and would get rep for that faction…

5 most hated things? These thing I’m going to list will be mainly systems. Systems that may appear to work differently but in truth they accomplish the same goal for Blizzard.

  1. Garrisons, Azerite Power, Artifact Power, ETC. Systems that were designed to time gate you and make you grind for months to keep relevant.

  2. Legionaires, Azerite Gear, Relics, Essences, Corruption, ETC. Systems that are designed to give free DPS buffs which require basically zero skill. They systems that took skill out of the game and made ilvl farily meaningless. It also forced you to pick a single spec making it difficult to play more than one role for your guild if need be.

  3. Blizzard deciding what fun is by looking at metrics of time played ETC. I’m tired of a company telling me what fun is.

  4. Forced Personal Loot in guild raids. The nanny state of Blizzard had now arrived. Now it takes new players just as long basically as it took the veteran raiders to gear. There is no way of getting around it, we can’t really funnel gear to new players anymore to gear them up quickly. So inviting new players to raid becomes a burden on the raid itself.

  5. The move to make the classes and specs easy by removing many complexities of rotations, turning specs into fairly thoughtless button pushing. Now the very few classes that require the most amount of thought are largely the worst dps specs in the game.

Runner up - Turning Heroic dungeons into Mythic Zero, requiring you to use the Dungeon finder for the same difficulty level that we previously had been playing with the LFG tool for the previous decade.

In no particular order:

1. Removing PvP Vendors.

Legion and BFA’s PvP gearing systems were absolute trash. And then when they finally do bring vendors back, they make it a brutal grind gated behind renown. I don’t understand why they can’t go back to the WoD system for how PvP gear worked.

2. Removing PvP Servers

Admittedly I do like War Mode and the content it brings. But the difference between PvP servers and War Mode is that you couldn’t turn PvP off on a PvP server. That made it a big decision when you decided what server to play on. With war mode, you can just turn it on and off if you feel like it. And also I can’t stand the people who say “I rolled on a PvP server to play with friends or this other reason e.t.c. I shouldn’t have to deal with the consequences” no sorry, you rolled on a PvP server, you deal with what it entails. If you dislike it, you are more than welcome to transfer or reroll. Other people’s fun shouldn’t be ruined because you made a decision that you regret.

3. Making Warglaives Of Azzinoth a DH only transmog

This one here makes my blood boil, as do the people who defend this decision and I don’t even use these weapons at all. The WoA are swords, therefore the various sword users who obtained these weapons before DH’s became a playable class should above all else be able to transmog them. I understand that they gave DH’s a way to obtain these as a transmog but doing that method grants them a modified sheath appearance plus the actual warglaive animations. If DH’s wanted to have these weapons use sword animations like the original items, they wouldn’t be able to.

4. Horde losing characters left, right, and center.

Garrosh was displaying growth in leadership in Cataclysm (particularly with the Stonetalon Mountains questline.) It was then forgotten about in MoP when he does to Theramore what he originally threw an orc general off a cliff for. According to an interview, Garrosh becoming a villain was due to a miscommunication between Alex Afrasiabi and the writing team.

Vol’jin - gets the warchief title, keeps it for 1 expansion while hardly playing a role and then dies to a felguard. Mind you, prior to him becoming the warchief, this character had tons of buildup.

Saurfang - Like Vol’jin, this character was well-developed. He literally got 4 cinematics. And what happened to him in the end? Yes, that’s right he was killed. The Horde’s last viable candidate for warchief was built up and then subsequently killed off.

I could go on, but those are a few grand examples that came to mind.

5. Warlords Of Draenor

I don’t think I need to explain where this expansion went wrong (lol). But even when it was first announced I was like “really?”. We’re basically just taking one giant Warcraft 2 nostalgia trip? We’re fighting old villains whose stories had already ended in the RTS games? And we’re just going back to a place we’ve already been to but this time it’s in an alternate reality set 35 years in the past?

I will say though that some of the things this expansion got right were the leveling experience and the way it handled PvP gear. And also the world itself was beautiful looking.

This will probably get buried but whatever

  1. Flying
  2. Transmog
  3. LFR
  4. Blood Elves joining Horde
  5. Expanding race/class combinations
  • Vulpera. Liked them initially but Vulpera players ruined them.

Blizzard not going with gilgoblins will likely always be at the top of the list for me.

  1. no priority of improving class design
  2. no class balance (pve or pvp)
  3. using players as unpaid beta testers
  4. no communication / not listening to feedback
  5. must be a “streamer” to even get bliz’ attention

CDs on gcd
AoE cap
Phasing out artifact weapons / class order halls
Phasing out tier sets
Pathfinder achievements (FF14 is eating blizzards lunch, their flying system is leagues better)

OMG cataclysm went the wrong direction, but now boss mechanics are even worse.

So true. Little foxes are not a recolor like the other ARs. They are a new race. Alliance needs a feline race while horde gets gilgoblin finally.

This is mine as well. Earning flying in WoD was simply terrible. You need to open a treasure chest that you can’t reach unless you run across the map, trying to get toe holds on fake paths and finally get enough heigh to glide down to a branch where you can possibly land and reach the treasure chest that is full of poop.

Removal of old survival hunter. I have few complaints that have lasted long term with WoW. This is my major one.

I don’t mind that there is a melee spec within the hunter design space. But removing a spec that players had been playing for nearly a decade was a poor choice. It has divided the hunter community over the spec, it now treads on BM’s identity by borrowing much of its abilities and thematically, and I no longer have a good option if I wanted to play an arcane archer.

I’m not saying it should be deleted. But I absolutely think how they implemented current SV hunter was a massive mistake and was bound to be a failure from the get go. Blizz is never going to let that spec be good enough to make hunters feel obligated to play it either since most hunters play the class for ranged combat, so SV is kind of left behind which is really unfortunate.

  1. Borrowed Power
  2. Ability Pruning
  3. Removal of Resilience
  4. Corruption
  5. Adding Demon Hunters to the game
  6. Spec locking abilities
  7. Talent design being trash

For me, the drought that they make with their drops and currency and then take ages to fix the drought then only give enough stop the community complaining or falling apart. (At least for BFA and SL)

Only 5? :woman_facepalming:

Lore retcons. I can understand a few things to make content fit, but they do a LOT of it, like a Marvel Comics lot of it.

Timegating EVERYTHING

Change of talent trees to the grid

Ruining characters (thrall / Sylvanas / Etc) with poor writing

Covenants and soulbind system

I have a lot of criticisms but these are the things I actually hate:

  1. Scaling

  2. Scaling

  3. Scaling

  4. Removal of content like the cape questline in MoP

  5. Ruining my arcane mage

  6. Taking away my dwarf’s fair hair (platinum is not fair).

  7. Scaling
