Can I get some tips on soloing this? It feels like theres too many positional requirements and she insists on standing in void zones to cast anything. Im using los to bring her closer which is fine until the eye turns up so I try reposition her and end up just further away with no damage. Trying with this DK.
I just burn her down with one orb up, just be mindful of tainted polymorph, know you can click the bombs to move them. I tank the eyeball positioning a lot.
I tried spawning the orb on her during the rp. Didn’t feel like I got very far.
Wait until her rp finishes and you can attack, then drop orb, lust, tank her in the orb .
Will grab some drums and try it. Feels bad though, there must be a proper way to do the fight that doesnt involve just dps forehead.
Ask her if she would like a drink?
5 masking is too many variables plus on 4 bosses there’s too many mechanics to try perfecting it, doing so is just going to punish you more when you’re focusing too hard and she gets off her polymorph.
Best advice I can give you is try to relax. I had a much easier time when I just didn’t stress the eyeballs zapping me if it meant I wasn’t getting hit by anything else.
Kick her bombs out of the way and make sure you have gift of the titans and an orb up.
As a melee it’s about patience and being careful(depending on your overall dps). It’s a stupid fight no matter how you look at it.
Oh I forgot about kicking the Bombs. Thrall was nowhere near this bad. It would definitely help if I could actually see the mechanics as well. They way they coloured everything is painful.
Yeah the fight is bs. The two most important things I watch for are kicking the bombs out of the way and making sure the eyeballs are behind me. Those things are total bs. Sometimes you have to stand on top of her to avoid sanity loss.
Didn’t know this was a thing.
But but but visions are so much easier for melee!
Lol yeah she’s aweful for melee to do.
- One thing I found helpful is when she charges her void explosion stand as close to the far wall as you can. If she throws the grenades at you it helps keep them from completely taking up all the floor.
- Taking crucible of flame feels pretty good for the extra ranged damage (I’ve done it with 3 different essences and that one feels the best).
- It’s okay to face tank the eye corruption a bit if it means you get some good up time.
If I think of anything else I’ll pop back in.
I do Alleria every Stormwind week. What I’ve learned to do is begin the fight right on top of her with an orb off rip and to burn as much of her health as possible. When she moves to the middle, obviously scoot behind one of the pillars as the mechanic dictates.
The bombs can be handled one of two ways. What I do is I position myself near a pillar, wait out bombs, and then LoS to the next pillar so Alleria comes after me there, and I fight her there. Another option is you can kick the bombs and hope they land in places which make the most sense. I had more luck baiting both bombs into a corner and then readjusting accordingly. This also makes kicking Tainted Poly much easier because you have control of Alleria being on one side at all times. As a DK, this is also easily handled as you can AMS it.
Involving all other requirements of the encounter, remember that you don’t have to leave the eye ball, you just need to not be looking at it. Positioning yourself accordingly should only require dragging Alleria to another aspect of the same pillar you’re at currently provided the floor isn’t covered in lava or void zones.
The rest is simple.
I’ve gone through almost all my currency for the week. What I dont get is why they dont offer a practice mode for this. How hard would it be to open it up so people could learn the mechanics properly instead of stressing out over losing their chances for the week.
Honestly, with the introduction of purchasing visions for Echoes of Ny’alotha, I don’t think this is as much of an issue. No other mode in the game has had a practice either.
You couldn’t go in and practice mage tower attempts, and those had a currency. You can’t go in and practice raid encounters, and consumables / time is spent there too.
i’m of the mindset visions shouldn’t have a currency to get in at all, but not because I want a practice mode. You have months to get 5 masks done. You will succeed with practice.
I mean… our whole perk as ranged is supposed to be kiting, but most packs have casters, so many things can screw our casts like touch of the abyss, Rexxar, having Alleria line of sight, affixes bumping us around, having to move because of a pool of void or whatever falls on us and we’re squishier.
I’ve done both. On my warrior, dh and rogue all were MUCH easier than my mage.
Not saying melee is a breeze, but I found I have an easier time sans maybe locks and hunter with taunt pets, but I don’t play them so I’m not certain.
Lot’s of good advice here. Again… my experience has been it depends on the class. I feel I cheese her with my warrior. Leap is just way too good for that fight. Also, by now you sort of should figure out how much of something you can eat.
For me, I completely ignore the eye. Sure I’ll try to LoS it, but it is never a priority for me. I charge interrupt her poly every time. And instead of kicking bombs, I wait for cast and Leap out to the next pillar, wait swirlies and beat her face off.
The Orb start is a sound strat don’t doubt it and yes Drums is to me 100% must to have a smooth start you can control. I even pre-pot unbridled.
DK (especially Unholy) is undoubtedly the easiest for Alleria. You can pull everything at start, but make sure you leave at least 2 mobs at the left side of the cathedral alive so you can comeback later and fish for a gift proc before engage her. Therefore if gift proc, you pop army and everything and pull her asap, maybe pop lust if you’re not confident. If no gift, then make sure you put your orb down before engage her, and try to fight inside its radius. My best timer on Alleria is 13s with my Unholy DK, with gift proc.
I didn’t have much bother on the final boss with prot warrior my advice is to try getting to final boss with emergency cranial defibrillation still available and start the boss with full sanity
