I imagine if they do change it, they’ll end up nerfing how much you’re rewarded for completing the dungeon to “compensate”.
So instead of getting slapped with 5 crests when you could have earned 12, you get 8 crests whether you time it or not.
The amount of bad tanks I’ve seen in pugs is impressive. I thought that tanks really needed a big buff, but in reality, some players don’t know how to play tank, they don’t understand that they need to keep defensives activated whenever possible (even if it’s in lower keys). And, worst of all, these bad tanks are often toxic (according to my experience so far), they can die several times, but, if the healer dies, he goes directly to chat to blame you for the failure of the key .

Nope cuz people like you leave a key after one person dies. Or you don’t get your external buffs. Been there tried that.

For all intents and purposes, raiding is a different game.
Beyond that, I have personally encountered the rare and horrifying enhance shaman that has been carried through multiple 10s, has a great score on raiderIO, and yet, only manages 200k dps in a run. And after looking at logs, and finding his score to be consistent across all his keys-- No.
No that shaman does not deserve any crests at all. Even a mere 5 crests, is 5 crests too many, when you mess up that badly.
If you remove M+ timer, gotta put appropriate enrage timer on dungeon bosses, since ppl think raids and M+ are the same.
And I can already see no completion. The M+ timer is to test you.
What they need to fix are the other issues like tanking, healing, encourage pulling larger packs, casters mobs, key depletion…

Nah they should not increase the crest drop in m+ or players like me who don’t touch m+ would feel “forced” to do it or risk falling far behind in upgrades which I’m currently not even though I’ve not touched a single m+ dungeon this season yet I have been able to keep up with my heroic guild.
I am pretty casual but the fact I can get 619 in delves If I want makes me glad I never have to deal with the M+ gameplay loop or bashing my head against raid progression for weeks/months to get 15 more ilvl lol
Let’s be honest. Wanting your time Respected is something that will never be achievable as each of us value our time differently. This game relies on metrics that need to show to the designers and shareholders that their product is doing well, and worth continuing to develop and turn a profit.
They can continue to make tweaks and somethings easier, but in the long run, it’s all about making the player spend money and time playing the game. If we assume there are 5 million subscribers that’s roughly 75 million a month in subscription fees alone. Yes, there are people that use tokens to play but someone else had to buy the token which only makes the amount even higher,
Remove depletion but remove the ability to continue keys past the timer. You get to try again as many times as you want but you don’t get a consolation for failing.
Also, not receiving a reward for failing to do something is not a punishment.
