4 Covenants 1 Character

I got really excited for a second. I thought Blizzard was going to let you play all four Covenants at one time on one character and I just missed the announcement.

:disappointed:

I just say hell with the expacs. I just do the new quests and world quests and be done with it. If I can’t enjoy the quests and world exploration, then it’s not a very good expac. I stopped grinding for gear/valor/renown/whatever else grind points are called many years ago.

With how fast you get renown its not that bad honestly, personally i think the main issue is the anima part if you wanna actually upgrade the bases or get the mog.

Make an alt. Level it. Profit

Missed key points by most people in this thread:
-We don’t know what renown levels or campaign quests they will add. Starting from behind may cause you to be unable to start the new renown and campaigns until you catch up.
-We don’t know what changes to soulbinds, new soulbinds, new conduits could be added

Before dismissing something it’s worth looking at all the angles. Sounds like a pain to me but I’m already halfway through Venthyr and after we finish our progression interests it would be nice to finish… and try some frost leggos.

Arcane mages don’t get sat? Surv hunters? Only “sub-optimal” but fine to do anything. But non-necro dk is unplayable?

Untl you look at something like m sludge. There are more venthyr unholy dk kills than survival hunters and frost/ arcane mages combined.

But yeah, non-necro is unplayable.

Pretty much these. I see no reason to switch at this point. I have neither the inclination nor the motivation. If doing all 4 is required for flying, great. I’m ahead of the curve there - I have multiple 60s already, at least 1 in each covenant. As for player power… I’ll wait to see what things are looking like 2 weeks before 9.1 hits live before I even consider switching.

Shadowlands has a long time to go still, would definitely advise to make different characters and gear them slowly overtime with the proper stat weight and different legendary builds

Ie my night fae pally stacks mastery
My kyrian pally stacks crit
My venthyr pally has a healthy distribution of crit and haste
My necro pally is full offensive

To be actually bis you’d need multiple gear sets to complement the soulbinds properly when you swap, and with shadowlands having 2 years left in it you definitely have time to get more characters. I see it as an initial hurdle of effort for smoother sailing in the long run

Just going to hit 9.1 with 40 renown and one covenant completed. Once there is flying, I’ll level a few other characters in other covenants. Though, I am not really a fan of Maldraxxus so I might skip that covenant completely.

if you get in a car wreck, you don’t blame the road for turning round a corner while you happened to be driving on that road in the dead of the night while looking down at your phone.

Find a covenant and pick one. It’s not rocket science.

Dang are people really doing that?

Thats a bad comparison. You need to do better. Your comparison is like me saying that wow is crashing because my wall is painted a bad color. It just does not make sense. Try to make a better example next time and stay on topic. Your example would have made more sense if you talked about the car crash and the responsibility of the car manufacturer but you did not and went totally to the nonsense section.

I think we should be able to have all covenants, but only one active covenant at a time, like the Soulbind system.

Make it so if people want to switch they can just go talk to the recruiter. Raid time? Go pick the raid covenant. Going to PVP for the weekend? Swap back with minimal hassle.

Have you actually measured the dps difference between covenants?
For most specs it’s 5% ~ 10% between the best and worst convenant. Unless you’re going for world first races or top 10 arena rating that 10% won’t make as much difference as your skill as a player.

That’s the point. This is entirely a problem of your own making.

I hope you’re right.

10% is a substantial difference, even to the average player. That 10% can make up for their poor performance.

You can switch if you want to chase the meta. But if you try to cap the renown level on all 4 covenants, you deserve the pain you get.

The average player hasn’t even timed all 10s or killed H Sire, meaning their dps is ~3k. 300 extra dps won’t make a difference if they can’t handle boss mechanics.

This is their answer to “lack of content”

And by funny, I mean awful. >.<
