You don’t need to “master” something to get to 1800 or 2100. You just need to be able to get better. You don’t need to be a master at this game to beat a team with a rank1 or rank1 players carrying someone. So quit your ridiculous claims.
I know a guy who hasn’t played this game since Wrath and came back this expansion and was able to hit 2100 this season and he’s never been a rank 1 player or gladiator before.
If this guy can learn lessons or mechanical skill in a season then you can too.
The issue is that it’s not usually a completely incompetent noob they’re boosting. For example, its usually like a 1800-1900 level player getting boosted to 2100. So it’s more like the below scenario:
1x1900 player
1x2700 player
vs
1x1900 player
1x2000 player
I think we’re assuming only brain dead people are paying for boosts, but that’s just not the case.
Not to mention they have a rank 1 gladiator coaching them and telling them what to do…
I didn’t say you needed to master the game to hit 2.1 or 1800. I said to compete with R1s and AWC players you need to have much more skill and knowledge than your average duelist or rival has. And those are lessons that can’t be learned in a single season, and I’m fairly confident if you asked most of those players…they’d say the same thing.
I think people often forget this as well…a lot of the people getting carried are people getting carried to a bracket one or two steps above where they normally would be. So a lot of these people understand the basics. They aren’t all backpedaling apes.
i think once you get high rated you shouldn’t be able to drop your mmr and play at lower brackets.
it does not matter if its a carry or not. A rank 1 player should not be able to play on lower brackets
That’s the thing, many of these players just… play a lot and now with account wide titles, all their alts are ‘glad’ level now. In all likelihood, these players were playing before, but people just didn’t know. Now every time someone sees a glad, they think it’s a carry.
This mindset is dumb, r1 players shouldn’t be qing into casual players in a RANKED mrr setting it’s broken and carries are toxic for players experience
You realize we can see your achievements even if you hide on an alt right? Like you have no idea how to pvp either though. You have played every single expac since 2011 at least and have not gotten better at the game from a pvp standpoint so I’m not sure why you are telling other people to L2P like you have ever actually heeded your own advice.
Telling people to L2P against a guy who has played the game for 10 hours a day for 12+ years makes no sense. Please stop trying to validate the last 10 years you wasted playing wow never getting better by defending the worst pvp expac we have seen to date.
This is also true. Perception is everything. I think we were often playing a lot of duelist/gladiator/rank 1 alts before…but just didn’t know it.
Personally, I think it was completely unnecessary to make titles/mounts account wide. Just as it was completely unnecessary to make glad 2400 instead of top .05% (especially with the elite title being added). I feel Blizzard needs to remember the phrase, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”.
OP exaggerated yes. But problem is widespread enough that your 60% W/L becomes 50% W/L. And now you’re stuck.
This adds to the infinite feedback loop shielding the top players from the rest. The result is a stale game with the same 6 teams playing in tourneys every year. Nobody can rise from the rats anymore.
Yea, agree. I don’t really understand why they made the change. It was one of the few consistent things the game had to offer relative to ability. Especially considering glad has been glad has been sub 2400 or high as 2700.
Rated bg’s (or mythics) is allowing 1400 arena players to have access to 220-226 ilvl gear. Of course they suck, so even with the better gear they’re still playing in 1400-1600 arena bracket. Of course, since the game is very burst focused now…it only makes it more oppressive, especially when these dummies play ret/boomy/ww/mage etc.
