Lol here’s my thing about the mage tower and this whole “it requried skill” thing. I’d bet everything I own that most of the people who completed it outgeared it.
They ruined it for me, I’m sure all other people will do it, but I was looking forward to it and now I have really no reason to look forward to it.
Waiting for them to ruin covenants next by being overzealous and making all the abilities just cosmetic or not be used in instanced content instead of just allowing easy switching.
MT only required skill in the first few weeks, by the end of it it was so easy you barely even needed gear.
So why did you say it’s wasted development time?
What’s the problem with making Covenant abilities available to all classes? It’s better balanced than its current iteration. (Though conduits are still NYI)
It’s just a general statement, if you do not enjoy something do you not consider it wasted dev time?
I see no problem with allowing easy covenant switching, but it’s blizzard we’re talking about, people will complain and they won’t do that (even though they said they would), instead they’ll turn them off in instances or copy paste covenants onto each other and just put on a different coat of paint. That’s boring. Just allow switching to be easy for those people who want to switch for every piece of content.
No… I don’t enjoy PvP but do I consider it wasted development time if work is put into it? No. Why would I? Those people who love PVP will love it.
It goes against the theme of the expansion.
Your idea is basically the same thing done worse
Except one of them maintains 4 DIFFERENT abilities, and the other has ONE ability with a different coat of paint.
I want the choice between 4. I’m just not a fan of cosmetic stuff.
It’s going to wind up being changed some way, because people keep complaining, I would just rather them change it in a way that keeps the abilities and differences intact. With soul binds i don’t see how they could do that beyond what they’ve already said they plan to do, easy covenant switching.
Ummmm…
I think you misunderstood. I assumed you were saying that allowing each covenant to use all four of the abilities is worse than allowing you to switch your entire covenant on a whim.
Which is try Conduits.
Not this. Switching abilities, yes.
No, i don’t think they’ve even ever mentioned that.
don’t know what you mean there honestly.
That is literally what Ion has said.
Might want to do some research. Because that is what they have talked about on numerous occasions in regards to balancing Covenants. Conduits aim to balance the Covenant abilities by changing the way things work.
This is really all I need to play an expansion:
New Mounts
New Battle Pets
New Transmogs
Sold.
Bonus:
New Races
New Class
Ion never said anything about giving all the abilities to each covenant. Just easy covenant switching.
I know what conduits are, just didn’t understand the really bad english of “Which is try conduits”
What are they doing to Arms? I like how it plays now.
Less reliance on your bleed doing most of your damage for one thing.
Some good un-pruning, which I’m happy about as a PvPer. Shattering throw coming back, and intervene coming back are awesome utility spells.
As for the specifics, there’s really no combat rotation changes, per se. What they are doing is reworking the mastery. In BFA Deep wounds is a bleed that is applied that does damage, which you probably know.
In Shadowlands our Mastery will do a smaller bleed and increase the damage we do to that enemy by a certain %. This means our Slams and Mortal strikes will feel much more impactful like they used to and not hit like a wet noodle.
They aren’t really changing how the class plays, they are mostly allocating the damage to different areas and changing mastery so arms feels like the attacks actually hit hard again and don’t just put up some bleed.
Well thank you for the reply and that does sound pretty cool
Paladins and priests are shaking in their booties.

What’s your point? You want to derail and try to talk English? The sentence would probably make more sense spoken. So… I’ll sound it out. My statement was an interjection to point to what was actually said and cut you off from saying the wrong thing. So what the sentence would’ve sounded like is…
“…what they’ve already said they plan to do: try conduits”
The fact that this was so hard to figure out is strange. But whatever. Go off.
I was on his stream during that interview, he literally says “we’re going to try to balance them but if it doesn’t work we’ll fall back on easy covenant switching”
1 reason it won’t be every other class gets a necromancer theme ability from the NECROLORDS and dks just get screwed with a stupid pull ability really we the one class that summons undead and they couldn’t give us an ability like summoning some kinda new undead pet for a short bit
