If you check the posts Choco made in TS, you’ll see we already exhausted the technical troubleshooting that we can offer as players. Character unstuck and their ticket were not helpful in resolving this. My final suggestion was to post here. Sometimes, the customer support agents in CS will see a post and can spot a phasing issue on a set of characters, then help the player.
The server IPs are no longer publicly posted, so this is not a step we recommend over in tech support anymore without extensive technical knowledge (tracking connection IPs from the computer).
This would not apply since the SEA server isn’t an option in WoW.
Well, all i know in this case, if the unstuck system doesn’t work, they can reopen it for an GM can take a look. The first time when the unstuck ticket is placed, the system itself tries to move it. If that doesn’t work, they can reopen the ticket for an GM can try.
I believe that process was already completed, resulting in the GM directing the player to the forum to see if others could help. We already took a look in tech support,… and the thread was moved here again. Ah well, we tried.
Well, the CS forum is more an info desk, there isn’t anything special about it. All we would be able to do is point folks at how to make tickets, explain things that’s known to everyone like rules, new systems, what forum to post in for feedback, etc. But seeing as the thread as moved to tech support by one of the blues, they seem was better there.
Looking over the information I can see for this account on my end I see that when the VPN was tried it was still routing through Australia, if you could please try again using a different country for the VPN that would be great.
I also see you have tried just about everything we can suggest and with removing the old laptop it pretty much narrows it down to connection related. Now this could be an ISP route issue or issues with the modem/router in the location. I would personally look into getting those looked at by the ISP if the VPN suggestion up top doesn’t help.
The support of TraceRoute ICMP is an OPTION and many carriers(think bulk internet traffic aggregators) do not allow it to traverse their network for security reasons.
That said, depending on where you are, Internet connection wise, all of your Internet connections may pass though the same routes, and have the same problems.
If you could test outside of your Internet connection hub, and VPNs don’t do that, it might narrow the problem.
BattleNet client showing resets, is an indication that the TCP connection is being reset somewhere along the route.
I know this may not help much, but it is how the interconnections sometimes work in Internet land.
My best suggestion, because you have done your due diligence, is to contact both the cell and hard line internet providers you are using and see which one’s tech support is the most open to tracking down the issue. It will take their higher technical folks to work the issue, but the do have senior folks for just this kind of issue.
Best of luck!
Morning all. Bit to unpack from overnight (thanks everyone for chipping in!) but I’ll do my best. Any overlooked advice from above is not intentional!
I did try a Character Unstuck action on one character (I frequently use 3-4), but there was no resolution. I’ll try it on others.
WinMTR - no worries I’ll give it a run.
VPN - My most recent connections were through NZ, however that data is about 48 hours old while I went back and tested on my standard connection. It’s back on the ‘to-do’ list.
I have since replaced my modem, modem power source and the modem cabling. I’ll give that a spin, and then resume VPN testing if/when needed. I’ll run WinMTR sometime during/after then.
Not sure what the test is running to, but 1-7 are missing, 8 and 9 appear normal, as do 10+. Those are IP addresses set to not respond to pings for DDOS and security protection.
And code will help bypass the restrictions when posting addresses. But traces rarely help since support removed the links to those pages.
The IPs for servers that were publicly available are outdated and should not be used for testing. Blizzard no longer discloses the IPs because they don’t support WinMTRs as of March 2024.
