Yeah WoW is dead after SL, they totally killed the game, its bricked. I have no doubt 12.0 will be a mess. Especially for all the people who don’t follow wowhead or the forums and will come back to the game with no idea of the changes coming. And then both people and the game will adapt and everything will be fine. But I know faux outrage and arm-flailing are fun.

You affirmed that the people who aren’t in the know-how, will just adapt to changes and everything will be just fine for them.

This isn’t dooming. Like at all. Saying something will be a mess, especially for people who don’t know its coming but then will turn out fine as people adjust and the game continues to improve is opposite of dooming. All of my posts in that thread are arguing against dooming about addons. But you already know that.

I think the majority of the core playerbase that has been playing wow for years and presumably enjoying it will simply see how it goes. They’ll spend some time customizing the new UI, and then just play the game and do the content. Not saying they’ll prefer it over addons, especially at first. But they’ll likely play and do similar content as always. Some people are just saying they are going to quit because they figure it adds more leverage to their feedback.

People say this, but they’ve made significant improvements in the short time of alpha already, and given clear direction of things they are still working on. There was just and article up on WoWhead with an Ion interview talking about some of things they know they need to address, like nameplate functionality for healers. They are not going to leave out the tools needed to play the game effectively. Things may not be exactly how everyone wants them; but that’s my point. Anyone who is going to quit over that is not the core audience. The core audience will adapt to minor inconveniences and give the full experience with all gameplay changes that go along with the reduced addons a chance.

I don’t like the addon changes. But they keep making good updates to the base UI and will continue doing so, and I’m sure I’ll adapt fine and continue enjoying the game and see where things go.

I don’t blame anyone for being mad or quitting, I just personally think its a bit dramatic or premature.

not sure about being meta, but there are specs that offer something a liitle unique than other dps spams, and that would be more safe pick for all different contents, not just m+. but maybe also relate to m+ because the non m+ related contents are somehow tied to m+ in terms of other reasonings

Unfortunately, mage also has a spec with a slightly higher skill floor in arcane. I’ve never seen an arcane mage, in a lower key, that does more dps than the tank. But they’re meta and they have lust, so they get invited.

Arcane mage gives a pretty good window into just how many people FOTM reroll, because so many of them just suck.
