3 ret paladins spamming glare on gilneas

Can we please do something about glare capping? Or stop stacking paladins on node maps? It’s horrible gameplay with limited counterplay.

I just googled glare and didn’t know it existed for Pallies. That’s a godly spell !
I was fighting Pallies and all I remember is they have like 3 lives.

Well the issue with that solution as it’s usually used as a follow up to some other form of cc. There’s a 10 man tich premade group who run 3 rets 3 hunts frost dk (spec varies) mage and 2 heals and basically you get hit by multiple aoe ccs while the paladins chain glare you and your team is wiped in like 30 seconds. even worse if they have an evoker and use that los breath ability.

Silence has dr and you can still control your character, don’t see a reason why glare doesn’t have dr.

It can be dispelled, it can be kicked, it doesn’t need more changes. It only needs a DR.

True. A lot of paladins blind into glare so that they can get the cast off.

Not really the issue. The problem is when you have multiple paladins on a team (every BG has like 5 minimum cause fotm) it just gets spammed like crazy and has no DR. Also they can cast it in the last second of bubble when it can’t be interrupted.

Spinning a node in blitz against just 2 paladins using glare along with rep and HoJ feels extremely difficult. It should DR or simply be scrapped.

Solution is to cap games at 1-2 rets per team.

There is no reason to have 4+ rets per team (in Blitz or regular BGs).

Absolutely nothing wrong with the entire team having to dump all their interrupts into the melee dps, to stop a CC that effects the entire team and doesn’t have DRs, perfectly normal and allowable gameplay that isn’t toxic at all.

2 per team is fine. Any more than that is redundant.

Glare capping is goated. Paladins being top ninja capper is goated. The amount of 16-30 man games I’ve solo’d on my ret alt by glare capping is fs goated.

But yes obv it should dr and be trinketable.

This should apply for every spec in the game honestly or at least some kind of diminishing returns for class stacking, like shared cds on certain abilities or something.

If there was a single word to put to Blizzard’s WoW gameplay philosphy it would be the opposite of consistent or erratic:

  • Removes Z-axis flag/node teleports for monks, but keeps it for locks

  • Cannot use BOP/DS/Turtle/block while flag/node holding but can use burrow/dispersion

  • New 30s/lock mechanism for AB/Panda AB in Blitz but not for EOTS

  • Have 3 different games modes (reg/BGB/RBG) for the same maps but with slightly different mechanics/playstyles - stay tuned for #4 comp stomp coming soon!

  • Can macro target literally almost anything except totems

  • etc… etc…

  • And more relevant: you can trinket all CC (except kicks because a diff kind of CC) EXCEPT Searing Glare. Stack it, don’t DR it, make it double in time, whatever - but the fact you cannot trinket this is criminal, lazy, and unsurprising on Blizz’s part all in one

I got into a game with 4 shadow priests on my team while the enemy team won the lottery with 4 ret paladins. It did not go well for my team.

I much prefer a more balanced mix of classes and specs.
