3 pm (pdt)?

Oh, I agree by a big margin. I don’t think a full 8 hours will be used. And I would rather have the same scenario - 4 hours announcements that last longer put a sour taste in my mouth.

Just, still, 8 hours is a ludicrous timeframe. With anticipation that it won’t be that long, it’s mostly just jarring for some (if not most) people to read that.

Hey there Shadina! How have you been?

Pretty good. Relaxing and waiting around for my lady to wake up. Hype for Zandalari trolls. You?

Yep. But it’s what they do - expecting anything different after how many years now? lol I just make sure I have things to do on Tuesdays just in case, on that off chance, whatever time frame they choose to place on servers coming back up, I will have something else to do - or spend my time on forums chatting with cool ppl like yourself!!:wave:

First time?

I have been well. Have my race changes waiting to switch this gal and my druid to Zandalari as soon as servers come up.

My lady and I have been waiting - me more so, admittedly. But I told her: “Look. We have a patch date. Prepare your snacks, we’re going ham.”

There have been 8 hour maintenances and some extended ones as well, so I have zero idea where you got your pefect track record for 3+ years. Do a quick google and you’ll see forum posts from July 2018 about 8+ hour maintenance. Not to mention Blizzard told you how long servers were going to be down. This is standard operating procedure at this point.

We’ve had patch maintenance days on Tuesdays for how long? And people are still taking days off work on Tuesdays, despite how long the game has had patch days on Tuesday?

OK, sure there’s been times where patch maintenance’s didn’t last as long as estimated, and sometimes they lasted way longer than estimated. I don’t mean to sound uncaring, but if it’s patch day, take the Wednesday off, not the Tuesday.

To quote Aerosmith, “Cause if you do what you’ve always done
you’ll always get what you always got
Uh could that be nothin’?”

Heh, well, I’ll be around today. If you see me in a thread, say hello!

I tend to get lucky - I’ll be playing another game, digging through the forums and find one talking about how the servers are up. The second I see those threads, it’s alt F4 for whatever is on screen.

Awesome, will do - and you do the same should the mood hit ya! I try to keep to the more somewhat lighter stuff, I see something go toxic and my hands start to shake - AVOID AVOID AVOID!!! lolol Getting so upset over a game that you tear one another apart just does something to my anxiety. lol

They’ve been doing just that for a while too. They under-promise and over-deliver on their downtimes. I’m sure they got tired of the pure rage on the forums any time their honest estimates went a little over. My totally random guess is that it will open up 2-3 hours earlier than they’re saying.

Yeah for sure! Those rage posts weren’t pretty by any means, and that was before the whole “Outrage Nation” era started and the nastiness that we know today goes on. lol (Pls no heat for that - it was more towards other REAL LIFE things going on than anything ingame, although ppl can get really nasty with the toxicity ingame too as we all know… lol)

In the future, you might want to check the official twitter. They at least posted two days ago what the times would be. Not sure that works with how far in advance you have to ask off, but at least you won’t be surprised the day of.

Yanno WoW is the whole reason why I created a Twitter account late last year!! lol No other reason, and really nothing more I follow on that thing than all things WoW, and a few cosplays and other artists. lol

Yep, yep, and yep. Rage posts just make me angry. I like to debate with people, but it can be really frustrating at times.

I’m sorry. I’m sorry!

I just can’t help it. I had good teachers.

These patches used to happen much earlier, it seems they’ve stopped caring. All patches and especially patches of this size should not start at 10am EDT.

Maybe, but do you know exactly what maintenance they are doing and how many employees are involved and if there is anything different (maybe hardware) going on needing more people to work on it? Maybe when their vendors are available in case something goes wrong?

Just a few thoughts. You might be right, but to equate this to stopping caring is a leap maybe without more knowledge of the situation.
