3 Expansions Straight of Weird New Races

Yeah, it just says ‘woke’ . The one above that says you lost out on tradition and added vulpera, so it’s going for furries or smth lol. The political thing the game is going for is…furries? I got that right, yeah?

Oh boy, a race that got sidelined in their own debut expansion. Exciting!

More like knock off Na’vi from Wish or Temu.

Allied Races were pretty great compared to what we got afterwards, won’t lie.

Dracthyr are cool but I just think they’re a bit of a departure from what we are used to. They’re very divisive as a result of that.

I’m moreso tired of these new races showing up out of nowhere, and would prefer more grounded races we already know, with existing lore.

Taunka would’ve easily been more popular than Earthen- we already have Dark Irons which are inherently a lot cooler than Earthen, so who are Earthen really for?

No one, just a new race made so they could say we got one.

Also, the issue with Dracthyr and Earthen, is that they are basically kids in an adult’s body. Still learning how a toilet works and all that sort of thing, because they haven’t been around in the mortal world for that long.

The only time I liked a race with a “blank slate brain” was Sylvari in GW2. But the lore behind that was more interesting than the WoW races that suffer from that issue.

No, not at all. I think you’re having a stroke.

Except their debut is upcoming and the lore behind them actually looks half decent if you would check it out.

So it is actually pretty exciting!

Blizzard really does appear to go out of their way to not deliver on the types of races people have been constantly asking for over the years, i don’t think it’s antagonistic, or them just having really bizarre crap on their wishlist compared to the players or anything though.

It probably just comes down to budget constraints, all they have the budget allocation to do is a slight reskin of something we already have, so they give it a name and try and make it seem like something cool, but it isn’t hard to read between the lines.

So be clear man. What woke/political things are they doing?

The only new races we need are Murlocs and Tuskarr.

I mean, we met them in TWW, this expansion was their debut and they flopped. Orwenya got a fancy cinematic model and a cameo and all it amounted to was “The Underground race’s underground zone getting scrapped in the Underground Expansion.”

Also, their Lore is not “half-decent” considering it’s one giant impending retcon to Elven origins.

I just think, personally, if it’s not fanservice type stuff, then idk why they bother.

It seems they are really against what the fans want, or seem to think their own vision is better.

Their own vision, which has repeatedly been bashed again and again lol.

Maybe they’re designing for themselves rather than us players, hard to tell.

They’re outright avoiding the easy wins.

Hard to pinpoint who exactly stuff like Earthen is really for.

Sorta but not really… It was very short and they clearly intended to add it but tww got too big. I actually appreciate that they split the saga up. Then we don’t get lore that’s completely rushed through in one patch.

Like nzoth being one single patch was super lame.

Subjective but I find it interesting. I’m looking forward to learning more about them.

Again they’re no ethereals but as far as races go I’d put them middle of the pack. Mechagnomes are way worse lol

I really really hope that all of the elves end up on their own faction, and when that happens they just make a high elf race so people can shut up about them.

It also would breathe new life into the faction system. And obviously the Forsaken with all race models would be the 4th faction.

Dracthyr are just experiments we’ve known Deathwing to do along with his son. Where do you think Maloriak came from?

Earthen have been in the lore since Vanilla.

Haranir are basically the “missing link” between Dark Trolls evolving into Nelfs.

How is none of that Warcraft-y?

dracthyr and earthen is true.

But I seen some ask for haranir, and they are warcrafty.

Earthen has been in WoW for a while, just not in this strange state. so yeah warcrafty.

Etherals is a big ask, it’s kinda hard to make comprehensive customizations on bandages that is directly visable from a distance.

Amani is a normal request, I’ll give you that, and it’s kinda not in game.

High elves though. No. you have 2 options (blood elves, and void elves which had been hyjacked by you guys) choose one, in fact VE is getting DH’s and at some point paladins () so there is very little reason for an actual HE race. The closest you coulda gotten was half elves, but that was thrown down the dumpster in war within.

The story of the earthen, to turn away from tradition, to defy your assigned task, to have no structure. Its very clearly designed to represent breaking away from a traditional system to pursue your own ideas without worrying about how it may effect society as a whole. Luckily its a video game so they could assure a ending where it worked out.

My brother in thrall.

I want a new race of Light Elves.

Dracthyr are fantastic, Blizzard just needs to fix their transmog. I get that some people wanted super 'roided out lizardmen, but I think slender mage-dragons are perfectly fine.

Haranir are very cool and have amazing druid forms. When Haranir were first introduced there were actually quite a lot of people on the forums asking for them to be playable.

…yeah I can’t defend this one. The Earthen are stunningly lame.

Could be coming. But we would need to see a story resolving the conflict between the Amani and the Sin’dorei as they have a very bad history between them.

Since the restoration of their world-soul at the conclusion of this patch’s story, this is heavily hinted that they will eventually be playable.

High Elves have been playable since January 2007

Ah another high elf thread. Yawn. They’re playable you know, the name tag isn’t going to give or add much. What racials would they even have? Summoning the well of eternity to ruin the world again?
