On topic though r/m is overall better but hunt/rog is viable.
If they played eachother i think r/m has the edge unless its a surv hunter. Then i think hunt/rog can win that matchup.
Comes down to whoever plays better imo.
I would never play mage/rogue in 2v2 or 3v3. Play rogue/rogue. It’s much more interesting.
There’s literally zero room for mistakes though. You’ll pay dearly if you make any small mistakes. Other than that it’s FUN.
(or just run disc/rogue if you need a healer)

Rogue mage is far superior
Hunter rogue isn’t viable and when I say viable I mean to push like 2100 in twos you’d probably need a 2.4-2700 rogue and hunter. Why? Because the hunter can’t heal last for more than 30 seconds being trained unlike a mage who can like 3 minutes or more and end up doing 400k healing
The true strength of r/m is the fact the mage can survive for so long that the rogue can get a restealth. A hunter can’t kite any class long enough for the rogue to get a restealth and have drs come off cd.
