If you’re just interested in 1800, and you play a spec that can hard carry, then you might have an easier time with Shuffle over Blitz.
Because Shuffle gives you a lot more agency whereas Blitz can be a slot machine simulator sometimes.

Basically, unless you’re duo queuing. That’s why you’ll see half of people saying “it’s so easy” and the other half bemoaning their bad teams. lol
I tried duo queueing with a friend who was 1k higher than me and we lost 8 in a row, we just went back to doing 2s.
No matter what you do, Blitz is just RNG.
I started out 18-13.
Finished 3-7.
But you can get 2100 without really trying… no reason to go beyond that.
I started out around 1500MMR for placements(obviously), lost a few and it sent me down to 1100, eventually got my MMR up to 1900 even with a 1/3 winrate. After that, I queued with a friend who was 1k CR higher than me and we lost 7 or 8 in a row and I was sub 1k MMR.
Now my Blitz queues are 40-60minutes+ AS A HEALER, it is not about it being easy or hard, it is not about if you are “really trying” or “not really trying”, if you get bad games at the very start you are just shadowrealmed to suffering until you eventually luck out of it.
The big issue there is that it can be no fault of your own, and just one loss too many at the start and you get sent into a bracket where even healers have hour long or worse queues. I lost 11 in a row, 0-11, in placements one season and it sent me to 600MMR and not even 5 hours in queue would get a match. This was last Xpac, not sure what season, and I was playing 2.3mmr in 2s/3s at the same time on that character.
There are some serious issues with how Blitz rating works, a lot of people refuse to accept it.
edit edit edit, it takes less time to level a new character and just redo placements than it does to try to climb out of the shadowrealmed MMR levels, that is ridiculous. It bricks your character, it makes the time investment not be efficient, you are forced to either level a new character or suffer for some undefined number of matchees until you get lucky.

Well, this really depends on your definition of “easy.” If you’re annoyed by the randomness and uncertainty of Blitz games, then yes, Blitz is harder.
But if you look at it from another angle, 3’s is the true metric of pvp skill. A high rated Blitz player might never be able to hit high ratings in 3’s, no matter how hard he tries. On the other hand, a high-rated 3’s player can easily achieve a high Blitz rating as long as he’s willing to learn the map mechanics and strategies.
Yea, I was told that 6pm to 12am was the sweet spot for playing Blitz. I did also notice I won more during that time, than earlier or later. I still suck though, so my view can be easily ignored.
I’m just going to keep queing and see what happens like I did on my prot warrior who ended up at 2700 by solo queing.

I can’t get into arenas. Its pretty much imo the worst part of wow pvp (dealing with healers) as the focus. Healers are still annoying in bgs, but at least you can just go someplace else and play objectives to avoid them. I very much enjoy dps vs dps fights without a healer coming in and ruining it. Just slows the game way down and it becomes a slog.

I know you have a lot of XP (and as someone who’s still curious about people’s comments and experiences in blitz) it appears that “Just keep playing” is the most common advice from reasonable people for blitz, and because of that, it seems to ring true. It makes so much more sense than attacking or blaming random people in game or on the forums.

blitz is a really good format for pvpers that have a busy life. waiting for your arena partners or trying to find a new one is a little less daunting than the old 10man rbg team building waitt-for-a-bear tank stuff….but blitz you can log on and que and a few mins later you are zoned in. It’s great for a lot of the aging wow players who have jobs and families and stuff now.

I absolutely hate it but I’ve watched a lot of people stream on Twitch who do blitz and that is the number 1 piece of advice they go after followed by well if you want an easier time, try bringing a healer with you as the follow up.
Not everyone has a friend who wants to heal in the hell hole we call blitz which is understandable.

I just hit 2100 in like two nights… easy. I wasn’t even trying. I don’t even play Rated PvP, and I had zero difficulty… but I am Honor Level 3,811… so it should be easy for me.
When exactly does Rated PvP become difficult?
Should I keep doing it… or will it always be this easy for now Duelist Owlcapwn?
Is 2400 worth going for? Maybe 2800? I can do any rating.
It never gets difficult. Genuinely. Games at 2000 mmr were just as difficult as games at 3000. The biggest challenge is winning the matchmaking lottery and even that I am feeling fairly confident will not let you go below 50% win rate unless you throw deliberately.

Coming from an Honor Level 539 whose highest PvP ach is Duelist.
My first season doing Rated PvP - and I got Duelist by simply winning my Daily.
It took you 163 games to get 2100.
It took me 40 games.
If you play 163 games in any Rated Mode - you should come away with minimum 2800.
43% win rate in insane. I didn’t think it was even possible in Blitz.
