2H Mastery is one of the most boring and uninspired runes imaginable

It makes 2h not absolutely useless. DW will beat it by ~about 50dps, but will barely have more MW procs if MW turns out to be PPM, which everyone is suspecting it will.

2h vs DW for enh is sort of going to be like 2h vs dw for war in that dw will be better for pve, but unfortunately for enh, 2h wont be that much better in pvp.

I’m pretty satisfied with this, but ofc I really wouldn’t mind if 2h was a bit stronger. I guess I should also say this is speculation/based on sims as P2 isn’t actually out yet.

Yes. For example, if you have a 3.6 speed weapon, and you have +50% attack speed, you attack 50% faster, meaning you attack every 2.7 seconds. If you have +100% attack speed, you attack twice as fast, meaning you swing every 1.8 seconds.

On the bright side there seems to be more hit gear coming in p2 that will make up for the loss of dw spec, but it’s going to fall behind further to dw with those gloves giving +3 to fists

The problem with this thinking is that warrior already has melee moves based on your melee weapon damage. You’re not just standing there auto attacking, which was one of the problems enhance had at 60 back in the day.

Tbh I think maelstrom and 6 second stormstrike fixes all of those concerns, but we will see

Completely agree here, it doesn’t need to be a one or the other thing. I like having different tools for different situations

DW only beats it by that if you dont have the crowd pummeler or BiS 2h ( which is from uldaman, not gnomer)

This is a joke right? This rune plus flurry plus the new nomer buff you will be at like 1.0 AS with some 2h thats insane

Enhance in itself is an embarressment when it comes to damage output

Now that week 1 gnomer logs have come out and that enhance shaman is the second lowest DPS, I feel entirely vindicated with my stance on how garbage 2HM is as a rune.

Imo I love dual wield enhance. But I feel like the classic true classic enhance lovers got shafted. They should have entirely designed classic enhance around 2h. People saying 2h can’t be good are ignorant. I mean look at melee hunter , historically it should never be good but it proves to show you can add any runes you want to make something more powerful in melee than warriors and rogues.

Hey warriors got one wors that that thats only 20% speed increase. With gnome buff you got 40% speed increase

Thats ok. Warriors got 20% attack speed. and a rune thats a 10% damage increase, And one that makes your abilities just 3 rage cheaper. And one that just gives you 25% more rage. And one that gives us an unnotable amount of rage when a target takes bleed damage, so low that casting a bleed is still a dps loss, with the rune equipped.

I love how people forget that its phases and we get more runes before 60, everyone thinks that every spec needs to be complete every phase

Enhancement traditionally used 2 handers or 1 hander and shield. With little to no buffs. In SoD you get a 30% haste attached to 2 hander via a rune, sounds good to me.

Wait till shaman start collecting actual hard hitting 2 handers and you will see nerf calls.
