Right, that goes back to my FC/MotFW tuning comment. Was pointing out that 2h can be closer but you are going to be stuck with BoS atm if you do not want to be totally gimped.
Yeah that was my assumption, thanks for confirming. I also agree with baking in FC into MotFW. Thats a good idea and would help out.

Instead of simming it, spend a few minutes and go wack a dummy. If you have a 2h weapon laying around that is. Sims arent 100% accurate.
Nothing beats actual in-game results.
Though while we’re on the subject, Frostwyrms Fury’s damage is absolutely pathetic. 3 min CD that does 2x as much as a single Obliterate’s physical damage. Hell, it only does like 20% more damage than a single KM Oblit. Just…wow. I know its strength is in the unlimited target cap, but thats hardly worth it for how little damage it does to each target. Id rather have a cap on it and have it actually do something worthwhile for single target.
Frostwyrms Fury’s damage in itself is poor because its power is tied to Riders 1.5min CD build and CC which is strong. However…
2h cannot take advantage of the rider build because it cannot play shatter and rime hits like a wet noodle. Frost Strike and Obliterate hit harder but everything else is worthless.
They could fix it. But they wont.
But this doesnt actually do anything to stop 2h from picking up BoS. If it performs better now with it than without it your change does nothing to shift the build away from going into BoS. It either just makes Obliterate stronger overall in the same build, or it just makes everything stronger in the same build.
Youll be stuck with BoS either way. The way you shift builds out of BoS is make Frost Strike stronger like shattering since it competes with the same resource while Obliterate just enables BoS.
Do you mean the Deathbringer build? Nothing in the Rider build is better for DW than it is for 2H.
Reaper’s Mark and Dark Talons though are blatantly better for DW at the moment thanks to Razorice and increased attack speed. If they could normalize KM procs and bake Razorice into MotFW, I think we could see the damage gap between the two shrink drastically outside of BoS.

Nope, I do mean riders. DW shatter build is far superior than anything 2h can do.
FC would be better to bake into MotFW. That way you can use Razor Ice for shatter builds or Stone Skin for BoS and Obliterate builds.

I don’t get what you’re trying to say. Rider 2h does far more than DB 2h in pure single target. What does DW have to do with that??? I’ve been talking about 2h this whole time as obvious from my prior posts.
And what does that have to do with FF doing piss poor damage? Your reasoning makes absolutely no sense because its been the way it is for years. 3min/1.5min cd with poor single target damage. That has literally nothing to do with DW or 2H anyway.

I was responding to this. You clearly discuss DW while making a false statement. DW Shatter is better by a considerable margin. So DW does have something better than 2h in the rider build.
2h BD BoS is ahead of any rider 2h build. Not sure where you are getting your data.
Either way, 2h needs a buff to MotFW or have FC baked into it because not being able to play Shatter builds as 2h is poor design.

2h has always been terrible with BoS due to the lower attack speed contributing to several factors. I highly doubt that its better than any other 2h build.
Not on a raid boss it doesn’t. Baking a half assed Tauren racial into it that you have to spend an extra talent for hardly gives it any extra value. Maybe if the targets were actually frozen and didn’t unfreeze with any damage then sure.

I think this design direction just cements what I have been saying that Frost is and has been a DW spec. If you want to play 2h, then go for it, just like if you want to nerf yourself with 1h weapons with Fury, then you do you, or should I not shatter peoples view of me and say SMF should be the best option because im so “anti-2h”.
You want to play 2h, go play it. Quit complaining that an option in a spec that wasnt intended to be the best option, is weaker than the indended design. Just because you guys HATE DW and 1h weapons with how you talk about them, doesnt mean Blizzard should do anything about it or even listen to you.
