That is the launch, you can make 47 more characters when the game launches

I just never actually saw them say the limit would be lifted at that time was why I was wondering.
After launch you’ll be able to create as many characters as you want up to the server limit/total account limit.
Gotcha, the limit was just for early character name reservations. After launch it will similar to retail. 50 characters total, and 10 per realm.

Presumably, after the game goes live. (Or actually, you can create more than 3 right now – if you have more than one paid WoW account. )

It’s 5 hours before launch.
Wherever you are, whatever ‘your’ launch time, it’s 5 hours before that.
As an example, in New York City, Launch is 6pm on the 26th.
At 1pm on the 26th you can log in and create your characters on the new realms.
Good luck to all who did not get that special name, that’s your chance.

It doesn’t matter what time Blizzard picks, there will ALWAYS be someone who dislikes it. It’s up to players to decide if they will make plans around the announced time ( which was was announced weeks ago btw ).
