I think the problem with healing is that most people don’t play it for fun. It’s a stressful, highly competitive challenge, moreso than a fun one.

For solo shuffle, you’re competing against the enemy healer, you’re competing against dampening/mana, you’re competing against every single dps in the game, while simultaneously trying to boost their performance while they’re on your team, AND you’re competing with yourself to not mess up / have the best spec.

It creates a lot of different pressure points to have your performance crack in, and inevitably fail to.

In the end, the person most on your side are the dpsers that are going to get a 0-6 without your intervention, as they are the least threatening, and are the ones you need to babysit the most. Naturally those are the ones most inclined to be talking trash to you as well though lol.

Aren’t we trying to get more healers to queue more RSS games?

It doesn’t have to be a flat CR/MMR value. Blizzard can give more CR/MMR for 3-3 games for healers at lower ratings. They can decrease the amount as healers approach 2.4k. They can make it 0 again above 2.4k.

If most healers won’t even get the 1.8k rewards, it’s not like average or below average healers have much to play for. Furthermore, it’s more exhausting healing at lower ratings b/c the DPS are less aware of their surroundings and less cooperative with their healer.

If it were only about getting more healers in the queue, then yeah you can just hand out rewards once you win X000 matches as a healer.

But that’s not the only thing we should be concerned about.

wish this would get fixed to 0 dampening at start to resemble real 3s but that would slow down RSS by a lot. i prefer slower but more satisfying gameplay.

the problem is that even regular 3s arenas are a struggle because of how low healing is relative to dps, except for mistweaver. every healer should get buffs but not enough to promote dampening

EVEN THEN, this doesnt solve the healer shortage for pvp in general. healing is an alt/casual spec, it’s never as fun as dps. therefore healers need an external reward such as +1k gold per win or some other reward system not dependent on gearing (conquest/gear just gears alts and then healers stop playing, not a good retainment system)

Fix the healer gains, why am I putting in the most work in the lobby and stressing over sweaties to go 4/2 or 5/1 to gain 5-20 cr in my mmr when dps are gaining 50+. Tf is that blizz :rage:

Think it’s because they view it as a healer vs healer thing, and dps vs dps. It doesn’t seem to take into account the DPS’s MMR / CR at all from the healer perspective.

Yeah still doesn’t change the fact I’m winning two more rounds than the other healer and gaining basically no cr/mmr change. I just hopped off healer after seeing +5 that it’s not even rewarding. It would take 4-5 games to catch back up to one loss? Makes no sense cmon blizz.

Not saying I disagree, just saying why it’s likely the case. Introducing DPS MMR to the equation though basically makes it where if you were to go 3-3 against 1800 MMR dps as a 2k healer, you’d lose rating, and if you were to go against 2200 dpsers as a 2k healer you’d gain rating from a 3-3. I’m not sure there’s going to be a good work around for that.

Took them like 4 months to take action and THIS is what they come up with? lol

give healers conquest boxes that can be passed to their dps toons

then they have a reason to q longer

Play the game as a healer because you like playing as a healer.
You don’t like playing as a healer? Then don’t.

If you need rewards to play something, it means that that something isn’t right for you.

It’s not like I’m asking for 50 cr/mmr for 3:3, something like 5-8 cr/mmr is fine to offset the healer/dps ratio. You should still lose cr/mmr for going 2:4 or worse.

New healer meta, courtesy of Sifu: Instant queues and then just trade throws to ensure a 3-3 split. Gain 40 rating per hour with minimal risk, collect titles in week 2.

All for what? Because you can’t figure out that taking three steps forward and then three steps back means you ended up where you started?

Maybe then you’ll have your DPS queues under 30min. Again DPS are already gaining rating at faster rate than healers and they must still be queueing because even at 2.1k+ rn their queues are 40min.

Yes, incentivizing healer collusion will have such a positive impact on the experience of DPS players. Instead of waiting 40 minutes for a queue, you can now wait 25 minutes but the healers take turns being afk in the starting room once word starts to get around that you get risk-free gains for going 3-3.

Both sit in the room in round 1, and then whichever healer gets the W just throws the next round again, and the healer with the L presses a button or two to maintain the cycle.

lol don’t know what fantasy world you live in that you think all healers will suddenly start doing this so they can collect their massive 5 cr, but it’s a bannable offense to those who do

Please remind me why those healers who collude for rating , they’d choose to afk at starting room for 5 rating each when they can literally just keep doing what they do now to cheat and have one go 0:6 and the other get a crap ton of rating at a time? Why spend 500 games getting to 2400 when they can do it in like 20?
