If you cannot comply with the requirements of the RP rule set, please do not create a character or guild name we will have to report. There is NORMAL you can play if you feel you want to name your guild or character something other than an RP-related name (“Dungeon Crawler Guild”, or “Loser Lunch,” for example, are NOT RP-related names). Please, play NORMAL, and leave our RP world to those of us who enjoy immersion play.
How is “Dungeon Crawler Guild” not RP? I might agree with Loser Lunch, but DCG? No.
It’s a guild that probably solely goes into dungeons and explores, that screams RP to me. The gatekeeping is wild.
Is this a Dungeon Meishi guild? sounds rp-like to me! where can i join it? ill rp as marcille lol.

There aren’t hard enforced rules, people can do what they want. What makes you the authority on the matter?
They are rules on the Blizzard ToS. I’m reporting non rp names. Saw Alpha Gamer. Instant report.
Imageine being this upset about people playing how they want.
The community enforces them. Theres nothin wrong with dungeon crawler guild though.
Its the RP server. If you rolled here then you knew you couldnt play exactly how you want.
What’s wrong with Alpha Gamer? Maybe the first name is Alpha and they are a Gamer, shooting Game in the forests. Whats the issue?
I didnt say there was an issue with that… just that people couldn’t play how they wanted if they rolled RP. If the community mass reports them though then the community clearly has an issue with it.
So what happens afterward? Some kind of interview to establish their intentions? Motive? How can it be decided on their intent? How can you assume? Who are you to decide they are doing anything wrong?
No… you get reported and force name changed most likely.
It’s subjective though isn’t it? Maybe theyre an Avid RPer and thats a valid or reasonable name and you just misunderstand it?
RP servers are meant for roleplayers.
It’s fine to go to a gay bar as a straight person, but it’s not okay to go to a gay bar to try to pick up women. Simply saying that’s how you have fun is irrelevant. Different communities and spaces have different norms that are enforced.
So RP-PVP, does it also mean it’s meant for PVPers? Are you not allowed on the server if you don’t PVP?
It is not a fantasy or medieval name. No one on Azeroth would conceivably be named Alpha Gamer.
You do not have the right to be a nuisance and break ToS.
Look at the gay bar analogy and you’ll have your answer. You can be in a space that you don’t identify with if you follow the norms and rules of a space.
Yes. It is. Thats why I said the community decides.
I agree with OP on this one. You agreed to the ruleset when you created the Character on that ruleset. If you want to be BigDaddy Dipstick nobody is stopping you on on a Normal PVE server. If you dont want to follow the ruleset then dont play on that ruleset. It really isnt a hard concept.

Report a Character Name in World of Warcraft

If someone reports a name and it gets actioned it’s because it broke these rules.
If it doesn’t get actioned then it didn’t break those rules.
People who file bad reports get their reports ignored.
People who file good reports get their reports actioned faster.
