I’m unable to get past the initial “Choose Your Gameplay Ruleset” screen in World of Warcraft: Forever on launch day.
Environment:
-
Region: North America
-
OS: Bazzite Linux
-
Input: Standard keyboard and mouse
What happens:
-
All four ruleset cards—Normal, PvP, Roleplay, and Roleplay PvP—are fully lit and appear available. None are greyed out or locked.
-
Normal displays the bright yellow selection border and yellow pointer arrow.
-
Clicking or double-clicking Normal or any other card does nothing.
-
Left/Right arrow keys do not move the selection, and Enter or Space does not confirm it.
-
There is no error message, queue countdown, or wait-time window. The screen simply stays on ruleset selection.
I have already run Battle.net’s Scan and Repair, and the issue persists. I have one addon installed; I have not confirmed whether it is involved.
Please do not treat this as a greyed-out or unavailable-ruleset report—the cards appear active, but the selection interface does not respond.
Is this a known launch issue? Is there a workaround, and what logs or diagnostic information should I provide to help identify the cause?
