Is This a Joke? Warlock Changes

Warlock is the least played class in the Beta and has gotten the least attention from Blizzard of any class in the Beta. How can you justify all the attention to Mages and Warriors to make the interesting while Warlocks cant even get Soul Shards to stack; a simple QoL change?

Look at these bland, uninteresting patch notes:

  • Warlock
    • Spellstones now correctly only increase Shadow damage (was increasing Shadow and Fire damage).
    • Pets now gain 2 Health per point of Master’s Stamina (was 7.5 Health per point of Master’s Stamina).
    • Bane of Agony now correctly dynamically updates its damage.
    • Drain Soul: This chance for this spell to grant a Soul Shard on dealing damage (not a kill) has been reduced significantly.
    • Affliction
      • Amplify Curse now correctly affects Curse of Exhaustion and Bane of Agony.
      • Improved Drains: Now increases Drain Mana’s amount of Mana drained but no longer increases Wrack damage.
      • Wrack: Spell damage coefficient doubled, to match the expected coefficient per cast time of 0.286 per second. Base damage per second now increases with each level by 2.5. Base damage per second at level 60 effectively increased from 36 to 86.
    • Destruction
      • Shadow and Flame: The damage bonuses from this talent now increase Fire or Shadow damage by 4/8/12/16/20%, up from 2/4/6/8/10%.

Spell Stones still give haste which does nothing for DoTs or Channels (like Wrack)

Massive pet health nerf (79%)

Bane of Agony bug fix

Drain Soul becomes less effective and farming shards becomes more of a chore

Amplify Curse bug fix

Improved Drains nerf

Wrack damage increase

Shadow and Flame damage increase

I dont know about you guys, but if I wasnt interested in Warlocks before I sure am now! I mean, look at how much more exciting these changes make Warlocks! Damage adjustments, bug fixes, and nerfs! And to top it all off, Blizzard confirms they wont be making any other adjustments until after raids go live a month later.

Are you pumped? Because I sure am! Give me a break…

So let me get this straight, for the negative side you had

  1. A slight nerf to the amount of shards you get
  2. Pet health nerf

And then for the positive you had:

  1. A ton of bug fixes
  2. A buff to Wrack overall, instead of spending 3 talent points to get 20% extra damage you now passively have 200% the coefficient which means it scale super hard now and also it’s base damage increased by 240%.
  3. 3 talent points freed up because of that buff to wrack
  4. And a flat 10% buff to essentially all of your damage as Destro

And somehow this is bad?

This is what I’m talking about when I say people who are complaining don’t even know what to complain about. This is a massive, massive, massive buff to Affliction, a huge buff to destro, a ton of bug fixes all around for every spec, and then the only downside is your pet has less health and you have to drain soul a little more to gather shards and you’re upset by that…

Wow you sound dumb.

Warlocks are the least played class and have gotten the least amount of attention from Blizzard. This is a fact

Pet HP nerf is so out of touch. They don’t have a clue what to do with warlock. Just delete it, it gets no attention anyways

What maniac thought this was a good idea?

Unfortunately, Affliction is worse than ever before.

The Wrack changes makes the optimal rotation for affliction being skipping immolate, skipping siphon life, putting up bane of doom, and just doing wrack, wrack, wrack, corruption, repeat.

Also, even with this change, aff does less single target than Demo, significantly less AoE, and less survivability.

Come to the Warlock discord if you have any questions.

Allanua simply trolls any post I make because they were embarrassed in another thread. Dont take them seriously.

You just cant handle they gave you actual responses and didnt side with you. Sad. Rip. Warlock got a lot of good changes for Forever. And on top of that, YOU GET TO SUMMON PEOPLE AS MAJOR PRO NO ONE ELSE CAN DO SO SO YOU WILL ALWAYS GET AN INVITE

None of this addresses the changes in the thread, or what I said in response to the thread. The changes that we are looking at right now are objectively massive buffs to warlock and there is no reason to complain about these specific changes that we are looking at right now.

So the “fun” of playing a Warlock should be “we get to summon the players that get to contribute”? Just like it was in Classic?

How exciting.

You are ignoring 90% of the changes that buff your character and choosing to arbitrarily pick something to be upset about. Is it for attention? Cause you already got the buffs youre apparently complaining you didnt get. Wait for forever and get ready to summon me

I am legitimately pumped just about the 10% more shadow/flame damage alone. I’ll be playing Incenerate/conflag fire lock destruction, and I already thought it looked good… I wasn’t even expecting another 10% buff but wow, now it’s going to be great ^^

Soul shard inventory management is a feature of classic. It’s what gives the shards value to hold or summon or conjure with, so that it’s not just an infinitely stacking number that becomes negligible.

Massive? The patch consisted of four bug fixes, one adjustment, two nerfs, and one buff. That is your definition of “massive buffs”?

My healing profile in raids went from blanketing rejuves to casting regrowth all day. 1 patch absolutely dunked on my gameplay experience. Not even about numbers at all before anyone brings up nerfs and tuning. I’m not playing a class for meters I’m playing it because it’s fun to play and unique from the other healers. Now I’m just like everyone else lol.

Maybe your math is different from my math, but 79% loss in health is not a buff.

It may be help to offer what you dont think was good for them to change or what you are unhappy about with the changes and why with what % etc, to back it up

Right now you are asking us questions when we are giving you answers
