Why did they have a beta?

Seems like the buffs and nerfs after the end of the beta are all over the place. And they are not little fine tuning changes. They are huge design changes that are completely untested.

The game was capped at level 30. The beta was never about balancing classes.

So they would find bugs and check if what they had done made sense so they could readjust before launch?

You know, people don’t always play the way they intended them to play, so they have to readjust according to that.

Plus.. what else were they going to do with what they collected in the last weeks of the beta? they were doing 1 patch per week, excluding the last week.

Balance is one thing, thats tweaking numbers. But fundamental design changes where you remove abilities/talents and add new ones is kind of crazy.

Was never meant to stress test, fix bugs, tune the game etc. It was to build hype to make money for the investors.

Why do you think they let the streamer tournament go untouched even though they were all buying gold openly? Because it added hype to the game.

Yeah they’re moving pretty fast on some stuff. I do like the look of the changes though.

Yea, Beta is a test, in many ways. Also is a good metric to determine the reception of the game and how popular it will be for marketing.

People had major design complaints, theyre listening to that feedback.

the beta wasn’t for class tuning it was for testing major systems.

The beta was the alpha, and launch will be the beta.

The beta was basically fuel for those forum posts. Blizzard is overstocked on popcorn and needed some entertainment to get through it.

And it’s still gonna be a mess for like a month like anything blizzard has ever released.

Multi dollar indie company Microsoft Blizzard is, guess we should cut them some slack.

wasnt the paid test just to test server stability?

Nah to build hype to make money for investors.

Yup

At this point the sweeping changes days before release are becoming frustrating. To the point I am now re-thinking what I was planning on maining (resto shaman). Almost like they suedo balanced the game for the tournament and are now reverting and throwing things against a wall to see what sticks. Of course I am still looking forward to release and will suck it up and play.

I’m just going to play to see every pug HR all the good loot and sell it and watch people like Frostfire the Grey crash out.

Going to be more enjoyable than the game itself.

Beta was never about tuning the numbers, it was about finding what felt right and fun to play.

Numbers tuning always comes last in a beta

Looks at changes

Which is the best class and why is it Paladin.

No streamers were buying gold. Just stop. Were they given gold that was bought, sure. Were they carried, yep. The hate you guys give streamers is crazy.

They didn’t stress test? Was around 500 people and no lag. Bugs were fixed. look at the new notes. It’s a company, you’re suppose to build hype.

you do what you want i’m gonna have fun.
