I will say, i am a bit confused on the point of all of these changes here. We have some classes basically untouched from vanilla, playstyle is the same, button presses roughly the same. When other classes are getting full reworks a few days before launch. I just dont really understand ATM… Brand new core abilities, talents that change an entire spec. But why only certain classes and not others? If were gunna do it, just DO IT. This feels like half foot in ,half out kind of thing. Devs want the game to feel like classic but then we are changing some classes drastically but others feel boringly the same thing weve had for 30 years..? Im just scared this will turn into people playing the NEW classes and the others that are the same thing we have always had get brushed by the wayside, or worse changed a year or two into the game making it all feel super desperate… Im confused on the process here and wish this was spoken about more in the podcast.
They will continue changing the classes. They have made it obvious.
Getting caught up in who is getting what is pointless.
Play the race and class you want. They will ALL change over time.
I suppose i just got a bit of a different vibe on things, not sensing the obvious, aparently, that they will and plan on changing classes. I thought the point was the keep the familiar of classic wow. However, the scenery, timeline and quest chains will be different. Different dungeons, quests, stories, characters…Then was surprised when certain classes were changed and others are left the same. I think thats more my point. This isnt a matter of what i want to play just a question on the future and intention of the game…if that makes sense.
Classic WoW as in the World of classic. Where you existed as part of the world.
Retail is where the world doesn’t matter, you just need to get to 80 where you are funneled into group instances.
That’s the difference they are shooting for.
They are likely changing all classes. It’s just awkward timing where some get the changes made before launch and the rest get them after. I am 99% sure these changes were discussed weeks ago behind closed doors and are just now finished and getting pushed into the game.
Except for Rogue, everything else will be on a sliding scale ![]()
Thats a fair representation…I think something i can 100% get on board with im just nervous for it to play out lol. I see a huge opening here for something super special I just really hope it is done right!
They can’t let things sit a bit. They tend to identify a small problem and lean on six different levers to solve it, rather than tweak one or two.
I seriously doubt “nobody would play WoW Forever without this slate changes across all classes before day 1”
I mean, jeez, hunter traps worked one way at launch… they changed to separate the cooldown by type… and they changed it back.
Tells me they’re not making stable decisions on that side.
the game is not released yet, I’d say it’s the best time to do it.
