Allow us to disable fog again

Fog at night time is absolutely HORRIBLE. USA people haven’t yet seen night time with fog on but I can assure you that it’s absolutely headache-inducing. Please enable this command again:
/console volumeFog 0

US here - I’ve played at night…none of the areas I was in during beta as a Horde toon had fog. In which areas did you see flog?

I mean, you do realize that US players can play at night time right?

US doesn’t just play video games from 9 AM EST to 5 PM EST.

Duskwood is pretty high fog density at night. I love the zone, but I suspect for some people it’s a bit much.

The very first thing I changed in Forever was removing fog because it gave me a headache from constant eye stress. After they removed the console command I spent a half hour fiddling with other video settings and finally came up with a way to remove most of it. It makes the game look terrible compared to just using the volumeFog 0 command, but at least I can play without a headache. I can’t fathom why Blizz would remove this option - how does it harm the game for me to play without your painful, annoying fog?

I second this motion, just give us a toggle like in D2R that lets us switch between the old graphics and the new graphics.

Cheers

I have read quite a few people getting sore eyes or headaches from the fog, but I don’t think just allowing people to disable it is a good idea.

I think they should add a Classic fog toggle so it looks like that version of the game. If the issue is eye strain / headaches that should solve it.

How do you… Why would you…

You realize we play at night as well right?

Completely disagree with this post. The view of the world should be shared across all players. It should never be where one player sees fog and another player doesn’t see fog.

I play on a crap computer that gets 30 fps. So you’re saying that since I play at 30 fps and everything turned down that you should also? My view, your view.

I like it but that doesn’t mean everyone needs to see it so them adding a setting to reduce it or disable it wouldn’t hurt me at all.

What in the dumb is this?

At night, I effectively cancel out some of the fog by adjusting graphics contrast and gamma. I made macros. My fave so far is contrast 80, gamma 1.7 or 1.4. I play mostly at night. The adjustment is night and day different in the environment.

I always try to reduce fog. These days developers go way overboard with the fog. To me, fog makes games ugly.

According to Belluar Gaming, the fog is actually helping, not hurting. Can it be a bit dense, yeah. But Im not sure they will ever allow disabling.

I believe the fog is part of the game
