I’ve been playing WoW Forever since the beta launched. I’ve spent weeks building a community, organizing a guild, recruiting players, and preparing for the November 4 launch.
Today, I spent hours trying to log in for name reservations. Between authentication issues, unavailable rulesets, and naming restrictions, it was already incredibly frustrating.
When I finally got everything working, I was prevented from creating my Horde character because of faction imbalance and character creation throttling.
Meanwhile, several members of my guild have already successfully reserved their Horde characters on the PvP ruleset.
I completely understand the importance of faction balance. Nobody wants a one-sided PvP environment.
But what about the people who have already organized groups of friends and guilds?
Are we supposed to abandon our communities? Switch factions? Or potentially miss launch while waiting for character creation to reopen?
I don’t expect special treatment. I just want to be able to play alongside the community I’ve spent weeks building.
Blizzard needs to clarify how these restrictions will affect established groups at launch and whether players who couldn’t reserve characters today will have an opportunity to join their friends before November 4.

I’m not saying I want imbalance but limiting and trying to balance or character reservation when the game hasn’t even launched yet is crazy! I’ve spent weeks recruiting and setting up a guild discord for me to not be able to create a character.
It has to be done from the start and it has to be continuously monitored or it can get out of control.

Yes, this is a tale as old as time at this point. Why do you guys ask the same questions every few years man? Either wait or change factions. Blizzard does not care.
Sounds like you should roll Alliance with your friends.

Few and far between are the PVPers who don’t want as many stacked advantages as possible.
Fewer still are the ones who won’t bend reality to justify it.
Wait 10 minutes and try again, you guys will all be on horde together if you have a molecule of patience.
It’s definitely a lame situation. We paid to get these 3 names reserved and now we’re locked out of our faction.
