Alright we’ve all had our laughs, haha fast cows mooooving really fast and all that. But up to a 60% movement speed increase? At level 1? These are Tauren, not Centaur. They’re lumbering Minotaurs not Barry Allen the Fastest Cow Alive. There are a whole bunch of long journeys in this game, like walking to the Crossroads for the first time, so the 60% will genuinely be seen quite a bit and make all these epic journeys feel way shorter and less memorable, not to mention this seems to be trying to “make up” for the removal of DPS racials which is the completely wrong way to go about it.

Honestly i think it’s awesome. Seeing Tauren zoom past in the distance across barrens is something i think thematically is really great. It’s Racial identity. They’re freaking cows, man. Also it’s not as overpowered as you think. It takes time to ramp and they get little else.

No their racial identity is not to zoom around like race cars. They are Tauren, not Centaur. In Warcraft 3 when you first meet them they are said to be unable to kill the centaur because, while they are strong and can defeat the centaur in combat, the Centaur are too fast for them and so they need help from the Orcs. Doesn’t sound like a race that has a 60% speed bonus.
Remember the only reason “Plainsrunning” was ever planned for them was just because they were so big. The devs thought they were too big to ride mounts, but since they needed a speed boost like everyone else they came up with Plainsrunning purely as a compromise. A compromise they evolved away from as they figured out how to scale the mounts. So now it’s just an unnecessary meme that doesn’t fit the Tauren as a racial at all.
Consider also that I get why you defend it, it’s funny and kewl. If they gave Tauren space laser eyes they could use to instakill any mob once every 3 hours, you’d probably also think that’s pretty cool and defend it, but it would be ridiculous just like this is.

Plainsrunning is the best actual racial in this game by a mile. It’s got everything you want in it; it’s mechanically unimportant but a great QoL buff, it’s applicable regardless of class, and it doesn’t hem Tauren into a particular build or class.
UD Water breathing is pretty good, but Plainsrunning is up there with Make Camp and Bouncy.

I don’t know the math behind classes work, but with the ridiculous 60% tuning I’m not sure if cows are the correct choice - but its the best choice. If cows had any type of dps racial I’d consider it OP.
It’s so tiring seeing these abysmal takes. I explain in pretty good detail why the racial is ridiculous and then get responses like “No. Me like. Keep!”. I’ve never had much faith in communal feedback for MMOs, the state of Retail is all the proof you’d need to see it doesn’t work, but I somehow still expected better.
Again, space laser eyes. Think. If they gave Tauren the ability to shoot lasers from their eyes. Would you “like” that? I get I’m fighting against a stupid meme that’s very “cool” to you, but it’s silly, disruptive, and nonsensical.

I don’t find it weird at all that tauren can run 60% faster after moving without stopping for 2 minutes
They don’t have a “damage ability” although I find warstomp incredibly useful as a healer and in pvp.
I dont care if they have plainsrunning.

Just wait until they fix the bug where it isn’t stacking with other Move Speed Buffs which the blue post clearly indicates is intended by design.

Bad ragebait. It’s so bad it’s making me consider rerolling away from Tauren because I don’t want my Classic experience ruined by a ridiculous race car Tauren zooming all over the place. I want to enjoy the journey, that’s what this game is about. Too bad only Tauren can be druids, besides the blue elves. It’s an absolutely awful racial and by far the worst in the game, at 30% it’s tolerable but at 60% its unacceptable.
Let’s hope the devs have more game design insight than you huh buddy.

Plainsrunning is meme. It takes 2.5 minutes of non stop running and not getting hit to get up to the max speed. It takes 25 seconds of non stop running and not getting hit to go faster than the boots speed enchant that everyone should be using.
Bin this joke and give cows a dps racial. They are the ONLY race without one.
