I already didn’t want to play Dwarf, this nerf makes it so I just won’t roll a shaman until a new race gets added, if I play at all anymore. It was already the least desired race on Alliance side so you gut them and give them 1% hit? Nah I’m not doing this, clearly these devs have no idea what they’re doing and they keep proving it more and more every week and the game isn’t even released yet.
I am guessing this is rage bait?
If you happen to be serious, 1% hit is far more valuable than 2% Crit/healing Damage. You needed a lot of crit for the Crit/Healing extra 2% to have any value, and 1% hit can allow the dwarf to have a completely different BIS for gearing.
It’s really not, that shows how little you actually know. 1% hit, when hit is literally overabundant in Forever, is the weakest racial on alliance side and it was already on the race that nobody wanted to play.
I can’t believe they nerfed Dwarf AGAIN.
These devs have no idea what they’re doing LOL.
How’s this help a resto shaman exactly?
I am fairly confident in my knowledge of gearing.
Most gear in Classic, and even in forever, rarely had more than 1% hit on it. To be able to replace that piece with another stat effectively gives you more choice in what you gear. If you are able to gear 1% more crit than a BlueElf shaman can get because they have to get 1% hit on gloves, you effectively get 1% more crit than the BlueElf shaman.
It is math.
As for The question “How does this help resto shaman?” I mean are you planning to never have a fire totem out or use Earth Shock to interrupt? You still need 16% hit to make sure you can in PVE content. In PVP, yeah it is not really that great with talents, but as the dev’s stated, “Not everything is supposed to be great in everything”. Could it be better? Sure, but it could be far worse.
You might want to take another look through Forever gear. It’s swimming in hit. And the only race that wanted dwarf to begin with was Shaman, no other class was going to be a dwarf because the other racials were significantly better. Warrior? Skyborne. Hunter? Skyborne. Rogue? Skyborne. Paladin? Human. Priest? Human.
It’s actually simple math, but you’re trying to argue that 1% hit is equal to 1% crit chance AND 10% Spirit or equal to 2% Haste and it just isn’t.
I am arguing that being able to trade 1% hit for another stat is something that is real.
2% Crit damage is nothing.
at 25% crit chance - 0.5% damage/healing increase
at 50% crit chance - 1.0% damage/healing increase
This is really low. And if we factor if this was Additive which I don’t know if it is or not, then it is actually worse. Any increase to Crit damage/healing would mean it would suffer diminishing returns if it was additive. Now the inverse is true that if it was multiplicative, it would be better, so that I would agree could have been a “nerf”.
But the point still stands. If Hit gear is “swimming” as you state, you still need to use 1 less piece and opt for a piece with Crit, Expertise, Weapon skill, or even more raw stats. By having this 1% hit chance for Elem/Enhance, you technically have more options for BIS than someone that MUST use hit on gear. Resto is probably the one that hurts the most since in PVP they can get enough hit from talents alone.
As for “no one is playing dwarf except shaman”, I mean a little overboard, but it still benefits them especially if they are a DW class.
Resto shamans have no reason to stack crit, and even if they did, 2% bonus critical is 2% of the 50% critical bonus. This was a 1% throughput on a crit, which would happen one in three times at 33% crit. It was way under 1% throughput. Trash tier. Hit is superior while you’re leveling or engaging in PvP or playing your DPS spec. Tauren now get nothing. Smile.
Thanks for the report Ron Burgundy. Keeping it classy as always.
Come to the red boi side. I’m in the same boat in not wanting to play a dwarf. Will reroll when a cool race is added.
Do you realize a shaman needs 17% spell hit to land spells? 1% hit is amazing for a shaman. 1% hit means you can gear with crit or another stat in its place. You sound like a fool.
You realize that the best build is only going for melee hit cap and not going for maelstrom weapon at all right? You’re the actual fool here.
Have you ever been fighting a mob of equal, or maybe higher level and noticing yourself missing on attacks? 1% hit chance will help with that.
A flat 1-2% anything is not going to make much of a difference in combat. I’m jealous of the Tauren Plainsrunning bonus; I think it might be fun to make one just to run across Mulgore and Barrens (and Shimmering Flats, and Tanaris, and other places) in record time.
For leveling shaman that 1% hit is going to do some serious heavy lifting. It already felt like crap to go from 15 to like 25. That 1% will help a bit. Tho still have to jank up your talents while leveling until you’re like 40ish.
1% hit is nice for all Specializations.
As resto you will not be covered in hit gear, but there are opportunities to use it.
aka Magma totem/fire nova.
PvP also exists, as Resto you can choose to save a talent point in tidal focus or go to 6% to help deal with insect swarm. Because, you still have to Earth Shock or Frost Shock and if you don’t use those abilities I’d honestly recommend playing a different healer if you plan to PvP.
Dorfs dorfs dorfs dorfs dorfs
That crit at low levels was nice, not going to lie, but the hit at later levels is going to help in gearing up for raids.
They do, they hate Dwarves without even hiding it
your whole argument was valid until you started saying hit on resto shaman is better because of fire totem and earth shock. That’s like saying give a warlock healing power because they use health stones. or drain life. It’s a NERF to any person who plans to play a dwarf healer. There’s Duel specialization so that’s the only decent thing about the racial change, and actually benefiting from hit.
