People are going to quit fast when they realize dungeon xp is garbage

Think of the new meta:

Fewer Tank/Healer players → Charging for tank/healer services because why should they play with you when they’re only incentivized to do a dungeon ONE time for quests and that is it.

Oh, you’re an alliance cloth wearer who needs some spellpower gear from SFK? Who is running that dungeon with you when there are no quests in there?

Oh, you’re a rogue who wants a shot at cruel barb? Good luck getting into or forming a group when hard reserving items is going to become the standard. You know, since people are going to run a dungeon just the one time.

Warrior going into SM for the cool stuff out of Armory? Oh dang, the one healer you convinced to come with you (hpal) rolled on and won the items you wanted because they need the gear to quest.

Not to mention that boosting is going to be more rampant than ever because all the xp is in the quests and killing mobs is absolutely worthless. Good luck when you decide to reroll your main or play an alt and you can’t find groups for dungeons.

Ah, so you’re going to be heading out and doing quests. Oh, you need to kill mobs in a cave? Well good luck with that because 5 man hyperspawn farming is going to be the new meta and you won’t be able to get tags. You also can’t control what shard you’re on so you’re just SOL.

Shout out to the developer who said at Blizzcon ‘I’m going to fix this!’ when he recanted a story about being unable to get into Slave Pens runs because he wasn’t a healer or 4 mages that AOEd down the dungeon.

When people realize that dungeons are completely terrible for XP and people WILL NOT PLAY THEM because there aren’t quests to do them, they’re going to quit playing and they won’t be back.

Is it really so difficult to wrap one’s head around the idea that some people run dungeons because dungeons are fun? The reward is the activity itself.

Yeah, people quit fast in the first 15 years of the game when this was the exact same.

Look at half the posts on these forums. Its people complaining about how they won’t be able to level fast enough, how they need to not invite hybrid classes to their groups, etc. Blizzard can’t fix WoW to be like classic because the community is no longer like classic. Its all min-maxer parsers who play spreadsheets not video games.

and the other half is saying exp is overtuned and lvling is too easy. Blizzard literally cant do anything to please this playerbase.

Nothing about the speed, this change is straight up anti social.

The only thing anti social are the selfish people crying that if they can’t boost to 60 they won’t run any dungeons.

That’s BS but I believe it 100%

I’ll be living in dungeons until I’m at a level for a solid zone then I’ll pop out to hit some quests

I run dungeons with friends. We almost never play end-game, but we love the leveling experience. We almost always do Dungeon’s only, because we like to push dungeons when we enter at a low level to pulling the whole dungeon before we move to the next one. We don’t boost, and most the time we will run 3 or 4 if we don’t have a full squad because we don’t want to pull in random players.

What’s strange is, dungeon farming leaves you really behind on faction rep, gold, crafting (unless you DE/Craft) etc.

Sucks that boosting is a cause to ruin so many people preferred experience.

Forums are a vocal minority. Stop engaging with posts like this. There are 500 more stupid posts about this crap.

Nah dungeon xp if fine as it is. Theres plenty of people that will want to run dungeons this is just a very dramatic post.

Its all entirely meaningless anyway. If it launches and they notice nobody running dungeons they’ll buff the XP… its almost like they can see the stats or something.

Have you played the beta? you must have a lot of time on your hands

I don’t think you understand mmo players in 2026. This will absolutely come to pass.

For me it’s the loot and time spent with friends.

Unironically that is a ridiculous statement. People would not play wow if not for numbers going up and that is a fact dude lol

i wish they would lower exp all around for everything, leveling is way too fast already
