A plea for more controller support mapping options

Desperate plea from someone who’s played with a controller since Wrath due to arthritis!

First, thank you, Blizzard, for adding official controller support. Even in alpha, it already feels much better than the previous options!

My biggest issue is that utility actions are locked to the unmodified ABXY buttons. For classes like Druid that swap forms, this makes things incredibly awkward because I can’t use the base buttons for my form specific abilities without holding a trigger constantly.

**Please let us move utility actions to another action bar so the unmodified ABXY buttons can be used for stance and form abilities!**

And secondly it would be awesome to have built in options to change what buttons are used for modifiers. For controllers that have back pad buttons it’s great to be able to bind the modifiers to the back buttons so you can free up the triggers for abilities. Rogue in particular feels amazing when you are aloud to use the triggers in this way. It also feels way more natural on hunter to use the triggers instead of ABXY or D pad.

Thank you for the support, but please consider these changes so controller players like me can actually enjoy playing every class comfortably!

This is a must for me as well! I have been playing exclusively on controller for a while as well.
I love what they did with the official support, but the lack of customization currently makes it not work for me. Even though I think it was meant as an upgrade, the targetting through directions is hard to get used to, especially when constantly moving around.

I have been just keybinding to my controller buttons and not using the Gamepad UI because of this. I do lose interaction with interface though (bags and other UI elements) which I think were done masterfully on the new support.

I think just adding toggles for some of the features and being able to customize binds and modifiers will eliminate the need for any addon or workaround for me.

One last thing for me would be to be able to keep action bars instead of the controller layout, it takes up too much space IMO, and I like the action bar look and organization on my UI.

PS: I do think it does not have much customization due to it being an alpha version. But I am fearful the unmodified buttons are something that might be a design choice.
