We need to address CC as a whole sheep, Sap, fear. These things are way to overpowered and need to be looked to for to even TBC style of these items
We need to address engineering and its overpowered state still.
Yes I know you said the game isn’t balanced around 1v1 but not being able to play your character this much is not fun or enticing to bring new rooks to PvP.
Healing in PvP feels a bit much
Resto Druids being able to DPS as much as they can in cat form!?!?
A Warrior with a dedicated healer behind him? God of War. That same Warrior caught alone against the wrong opponent? Benny Hill theme starts playing.
That’s part of what makes classic WoW interesting. Classes have strengths, weaknesses, favorable matchups, and unfavorable ones. They’re not supposed to be equally effective in every situation.
The further we go down the rabbit hole of trying to eliminate every frustrating matchup or powerful mechanic, the greater the risk of homogenizing the classes. I’m not saying balance adjustments aren’t necessary. Excessive CC chains, engineering interactions, and healing effectiveness are all fair things to examine.
But there’s a difference between addressing genuine balance problems and systematically sanding down everything that makes classes unique. I’d rather preserve that asymmetrical class identity and make targeted adjustments than move the entire Overton window toward every class having an answer to everything.
I agree with not homogenizing classes or balancing their dmg. I’m bringing up the cc durations are insane in classic and every expansion after they were changed. And it was a good change.
Also the other items still stand engineering… watching a resto Druid put out that much dmg that’s comparable to my feral in agility and strength gear is a bit frustrating also.
Are you referring to Sodapoppin from the level 30 tournament? Because if so, you’re talking about a Druid with exceptionally good gear for that level.
But more importantly, I think we’re confusing sustained pressure with actual DPS.
Restoration Druids excel at wars of attrition. They survive, heal, control their opponents, manage their resources, and gradually wear people down. That’s an entirely different approach from a Feral Druid focusing on offensive pressure.
A properly geared Feral Druid investing in damage talents should have a meaningful advantage in Cat Form DPS over a Restoration build under comparable conditions. A Resto Druid surviving long enough to deal significant damage doesn’t mean they’re dealing that damage faster.
If Restoration is genuinely matching Feral’s damage under equivalent conditions, then absolutely, that’s worth investigating. But we’d need an actual comparison before concluding that’s happening.
I’m asking to address CC not change dmg or modifiers. Look at moving cc timers to match every other expansion
And Druids being war of attrition has not been a thing really to my experience. I am used to seeing them go thorns moonfire and insect swarm for rot. Them getting weapon dmg for scaling like feral should be removed and put into a talent in feral.
Also still the profession of domination is engineering which has been forever. They have a chance to change the meta and make others more appealing and now is the time for feedback.
And it was changed in every single version because every version after this had arena. All of that cc balance was around arena and most of it around 2v2 or 3v3. Guess what classic won’t ever have. Arena…
It also won’t be balanced around any pvp that is less then 10v10 because that is the minimum battleground size they are going to put in.
Arena ruined pvp for everyone that wasn’t a sweaty pvper. They don’t want to cater to less then 2% of the game population for that balance.
It wasnt just for arena, that is an assumption. There are consistent interviews where devs talk about CC and DRs and changing them as they feel it is not fun to not be able to play your character for increased amounts of time.
Again this is a new version of WoW not classic. This is very evident that it needs changes.
They also moved a lot of CC to not be dispellable or removable at the same time. And it was 100% for arena there is reason they didn’t try to make their RBG’s the Esport.
All those nerf’s targeted arena for the esport angle and the dev’s simply had to lie so the outrage was less.
Or they were telling the truth. I am just as likely to say your comments are YOUR opinion. Where we have ACTUAL dev interviews. CC should be looked at plain and simple there is no reason sheep and sap shouldnt start at 12s to 6 to 3 its not that insane of a change.
These are the things that make 1v1 good. Why do we need to change CC just so we can damage more? More damage time and less stuns, cc… etc. Why not just stand in one place and wand your opponent or auto attack to death.
Whats wrong with reducing the CC to be more resonable. Not take it away? But we update it to be more relevant to match updated skills of players, as well as make it more enticing to newer players which is what blizzard wants. How many people will say hey being sheeped or sapped or feared forever is FUN>!>! I should do this more often?!?>!?
