Why is it so difficult for Blizzard developers to discuss RPPVP servers?
There is obviously demand for them or there would not be many thousands of posts requesting them.
Other topics seem easy for Blizzard to discuss. Why is this so difficult for the developers to discuss, other than for them to say that because people interested in RPPVP are not interested in seasonal flavor of the month servers, that the ruleset should not exist?
This is a question to Blizzard developers, what about this topic is so difficult for you? If there was not demand for it, it would be an easy topic for you to discuss? You addressed the concerns about people leaving the server [characters cannot transfer]. You addressed the problems of a temporary server [WOW Forever].
Do you want characters walking around the PVP server with names like “RPPVP Rulesneeded”?
Is that the goal here?
If I cared about Twisting Nether, I would have played on the RP-PVP Server. I do not even know what version of Wow that is. I want to play Wow Forever on a RP-PVP server. I had zero desire to play season of discovery. Zero desire to play what the current “modern” Wow is. Blizzard really should recognize that the people playing Wow Forever are different from the people that play Season of Discovery.
RP-PVP is a different community. Not having a RP-PVP server divides the RP-PVP community. I am requesting a RP-PVP rulset. I might play on PVP or I might plan on RP-PVE if they do not create the ruleset. RP-PVP is a different ruleset that combines both.
The last thing I want to listen to on a PVP realm is barrens chat about political topics of no relevance to WOW while adventuring with characters with beyond questionable names, with items made by those characters.
Thus I am requesting the RP-PVP ruleset and showing my support by posting here.
There is zero distinction between normal and PVE because it’s the same thing. It’s like Classic+ and Forever. Same thing, two names. Not sure why you thought you were doing something here.
Then why is there a PVP ruleset? Why bother with PVE and PVP when they can just be combined and be one megaserver?
As far as I can tell it was discussed more than anything else. PVE got a hey if you work and dont want to be bothered.. and PVP got if you like the thrill of the hunt.. and thats about it. They don’t want to make it. Just now it be.
It does not. RP-PvP and RP-PvE are different play styles the same way PvP and PvE servers foster different experiences. And this ‘niche’ community was among the most active and engaging on Grobbulus or even back in the day on servers like Emerald Dream. They can ultimately decide what rulesets to support or not, but the idea of not dividing the ‘RP community’ is not a reasonable explanation.
Yeah, this “dividing the player base” sounds like something that they had an AI agent tell them. I have heard Blizzard saying it. I have never heard Blizzard quoting the numbers, how many would end up on RP-PVE and how many on PVP if they skip the RP-PVP rulset.
As someone who appreciates both PvP realms and RP realms independently, and for different reasons of course, I fully support the RP-PvP community getting this ruleset as an available option.
It’s not my style, but there’s no reason to deny for those who have a preference for RP-PvP.
All options should exist, and it’s not like some obscure ruleset that has never been done before… it’s been successful in many other versions of the game. So I support RP-PvP being added, even if I personally have other plans for my characters.
Plus with their layering/mega-server setup, the list of available servers is already going to be very very short for Forever. There’s no harm in adding another one or two server types.
