Buckle up squad
Where are patch notes?
nuke seal twisting and bring back avenging wrath.
What about Hammer of the Righeous? It was on the protection paladin spell list at level 40, and on the most recent beta build, is no longer on the trainer. Hopefully still in the game at some point, since consecration and holy strike will not be anywhere near enough buttons.
Templar’s Bulwark needs to be more engaging. Why is the ‘block tank’ giving themself a shield? 5(4min w/talents) defensive that doesn’t actually give DR is kind of a joke.
Twist of Light: A Talent for no one. Twisters and Anti-Twisters, whatever your preference was, both just lost a capstone.
Imagine being a brand new player not knowing the game, way later in to your journey you find out emergently that there is a technique used called Seal Twisting and have a real journey of discovery figuring this out vs. Being a brand new players and trying to understand what this weird ability Twist of Light is trying to accomplish. What a shame, no off-healing, no hybrid expression, no Cleave!? No scaling that makes sense.
As a die-hard seal twisting fan, it is my favorite style of play unique to the classic era, they should just nuke Twist of Light and put something else in like Divine Storm it’s presence is repulsive to the technique.
I’m confused why Hpal is getting shafted in their talent tree/power and overall playstyle so that you can make a 4th paladin spec viable.
Paladin is a good RP PvP class…oh wait
“Our class deep dive series concludes with developer insights into Paladins in World of Warcraft: Forever. In this final installment”
Oh wow if this is really the last one you guys are not ready for launch
So, what’s paladin’s niche now as a tank? We were the aoe tank, and did best at tanking large numbers of weaker enemies. We got one of the least interesting prot talents with holy shield, and we still don’t have a baseline independent taunt. Seal of fury is janky, does damage then taunts… And we are completely dependent on getting hit to maintain mana.
So we take more damage than wars that can be crush immune, or bears that can armor cap, we don’t aoe tank as well as a war, and we cannot offtank unless we completley oom. Not to mention, we can’t even use our fury seal on a tauntable boss to maintain mana since itll keep taunting, so… yea. Why are we forcing this weird taunt mechanic so hard?
I probably expected too much from this post hoping we would see some changes to the absolutely milquetoast capstone talent that is Twist of Light, it just feels incredibly unexciting to take as a capstone. I really don’t understand who’s baby this is at blizzard but I don’t think most of the Retribution community is please with this talent. Please consider reworking this or removing this entirely.
"Instrument of the Law: (New row 6 talent.) Reduces the cast time of Holy Wrath by up to 1 second (making it instant) and reduces all Threat you generate by 20% while Righteous Fury is not active.
This talent leans into the Paladin’s strength against Demons and Undead while making threat easier to manage when dealing damage. Because the threat reduction applies only while Righteous Fury is inactive, Retribution Paladins can still activate Righteous Fury when they need to help off-tank."
This has me concerned. I am going to REALLY hope this is just bad AI writing or a the person who wrote this misread the current talent but going from instant cast Hammer of Wrath to a 1 second cast Holy Wrath would be an insanely huge miss. Absolutely no one is going to take a talent that far into the tree that revolves around an extremely situation ability like Holy Wrath. If that really is the plan, I’m not really sure why you would make this change. Maybe just… don’t change it from Hammer of Wrath?
Overall I can’t help but feel a little disappointed coming away from this.
So, this is either ai generated or an april fools joke, which is it?
Between obvious copy and pasted mistakes, such as purifying power notes, or not knowing that 1 second off holy wrath does not make it instant. And nobody like ret 31 point talent. I love twisting but if twist of light is your answer I’d rather have twisting die and for us to get an actual capstone talent.
Holy Conduit is useless in row 2 of retribution since you don’t get consecration or exorcism until level 20. It should get swapped with another talent like Improved Seals or Pursuit of Justice, something on row 3. Otherwise you deliberately avoid it as it provides no benefit until reaching level 20.
Complete joke what you’ve done to hpal. The worst healer, which also requires the most complex aoe heal, talents that are meant for shockadins to be a thing. Utterly gross. You want feedback? Maybe read what’s already been posted 1000 times over.
Why is this in the retail general forums and not the Forever forums?
Can Holy Paladin actually get a tree that helps with healing instead of it basically being a sudo shockadin tree? Comparing the Holy paladin tree to the Resto druid tree is just sad as far as healing goes.
They want to funnel people to Forever from retail for the next few months.
I have made a video on the issues with Hpal.. In short, we need alot of love Blizzard. Almost all datamined gear at 60 (IE PvP gear) has MP5 still. Not spirit. Meaning the 30% regen off spirit just makes us a nerfed version of priest/sham/druid who all rely on spirit. This needs to be MP5 (make it a perma Blessing of Wisdom) so we can also stack wisdom on it and have true Hpal MP5 with the 50% illumination nerf (which was a great change. It def was to strong)… Also, infusion of light giving a faster Holy Light brings alot of exciting gameplay, however there needs to be a Mana Incentive… otherwise the proc just dies on the bar most of the time due to inefficient mana use… Pair this with the client change of downranking where R1 Flash or R3 Flash will have little to no chance to proc the Infusion of light anyway, meaning we have lost the ability to really stay efficient with our mana if paired with talents we must spec into… Lastly, Lights Vigil not only requires significant build up, but its EXTREMELY mana intensive… It really needs to be looked at… In short, MANA is the point of concern… Raw healing output is also currently no where near other healers.. So it just feels rough being OOM and under performing on healing vs all other healers right now… Here is my video for reference… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7CJp5IV_d9A&lc=Ugwhw7LIqUcgX8kC7O94AaABAg
So blessing of salvation got made into its own spell and will no longer be affected by the 1 blessing per paladin rule.
What about the other utility blessings (freedom/protection/sacrifice), can we get them changed to hands, so they no longer remove the active blessing on the target?
doesn’t forever have its own forums?
I have zero interest in this nostalgia bait where we play the same game for two decades
