The irony of the podcast is watching the devs and streamers hype up “organic, player made World PvP events” right after killing the only ruleset where that culture actually survives past month three.
Streamers like Savix or Shobek marching on the Crossroads or Lakeshire is a fun novelty for 2 or 3 videos during launch hype. After that, normal PvP servers always devolve into raid logging, honor per hour spreadsheets, and degenerate flight path griefing.
RP PvP is not just tavern RP with PvP turned on. It is a social contract and a sweat filter. It separates players who treat the opposing faction like a math problem from players who care about faction pride, guild rivalries, and defending territory for zero in game reward.
On normal RP servers, people just unflag the second they start losing. On mega PvP servers, min max efficiency kills the RPG. RP PvP isn’t some niche subgenre. It is literally how World PvP was meant to be played, and our guilds are the only ones who actually fill in the gaps and keep the world alive during content droughts.
