RP-PVP is a must! (Part 2)

I played on RP-PvP servers from the moment they released until the state of retail led me to stop playing a few years ago. I’m a data nerd and of course respect the importance of making decisions like this based on good data. But I’m shaking my head over the fact that they actually claim that an experimental, seasonal/temporary server that was overrun by streamers is somehow their gold standard for deciding not to include an RP-PvP ruleset.

Yes, Grobbulus in many ways was lightning in a bottle. That doesn’t mean it can’t happen again. Hell, Blizzard, YOU CAPTURED LIGHTNING IN A BOTTLE WHEN YOU RELEASED WOW. Where’s your belief in what this game can be?

Between this and the fact that somehow they feel fine about providing a private arena for the upcoming PvP tournament, I’m feeling like they are more out of touch with regular players and more entranced with streamer culture than they want to admit. I won’t pretend I am going to cancel Forever over this - I am a returning player and Forever is bringing me back. But I have to admit I am disappointed and even a bit disgusted. This whole thing has echos of the Blizzard that pushed me away from the game in the first place.

I sincerely hope they reconsider and give RP-PvP a real chance.
