No RP-PvP is very disappointing! With the primary reason being streamers and non-RP-PvPers potentially flooding the server it just sounds like they don’t want to do the work to enforce their rulesets.

You say you dont want to split the RP community, but RP and RP-PvP are two seperate communities. What you really just did was split up the RP-PvP community. I know i love to RP but WoW isnt WoW without PvP so ill be rolling on a PvP server now and just have to be resigned to not roleplaying in forever. I never made it to max level in OG WoW until i found my community on the RP-PvP realm “The Venture company” so ill play Forever as long as it holds my interest and hopefully make it to max level, but im a tad worried that without my community it just wont be the same. Thank you for atleast responding to the RP-PvP community, but i completely disagree with your reasoning here.

No RP-PvP is a slap in the face to a long standing dedicated community. You talk about not wanting to split the smaller RP community, but by not offering an RP-PvP ruleset you are splitting the larger RP-PvP community into choosing between RP and PvP. RP-PvP is a ruleset that has remained popular since it’s inception and it is crazy we constantly have to fight for a server/ruleset.
It is incredibly disappointing that Blizzard so far has no interest in giving a large playerbase their Forever home. Honestly a big hit to my personal excitement for the game.

The alternative for rp-pvp players is not going to an RP realm, it’s going to a pvp realm. rp-pve will always remain a small playerbase, you aren’t splitting anything by adding rp-pvp. Horrible decision, probably made because they didn’t want to spend money on another server.

Praising the “Lightning in a bottle” RP-PvP situation in Classic, and then saying it won’t be allowed to repeat because it didn’t have the same type of engagement in a seasonal, experimental version of the game is very odd to say the least.
Extremely disappointing news, even if it is implemented “down the road”.

So, resource-driven AV? Hopefully, it being less honor doesn’t mean it’s empty. I just hope people actually PvP in AV!
At least they are making new BGs and some cool open-world PvP ideas. Hopefully we get some new Epic BGs that incentivize PvP!

It’s crazy when a lot of people did not have a ton of interest in a Seasonal game mode, especially RPers who are less likely to want to make characters on realms that are going to go unsupported in a year. RP-PvP has always been popular and I think Blizzard is making a huge mistake by not having an RP-PvP ruleset.

Yeah, Blizzard isn’t risking splitting the RP community, they are just defacto choosing to split the RP-PvP community. RP-PvP/RP-PvE players are just as different as PvP and PvE players. Incredibly disappointing move from Blizzard which has lead me to personally cancel my sub since I don’t see myself playing Forever long-term as a result.
