Bug with Heating Up and Pyroblast

Preface

I am a classic andy, and I have always mained mage. I’m excited to have the addition of heating up in the fire tree because this is the first spec I plan to level and play.

I have reported this bug multiple times in the actual beta, but the character limit prevents me from giving a full explanation, and I think it’s difficult for Blizzard to understand the bug. I run a scorch focused build that plays into the heating up talent. My rotation is basically scorch and fireblast to get crits and eventually cast a pyro with 3 stacks of heating up (1.5 second cast)

The Bug

When casting a scorch, I will often have 2 stacks of heating up. Sometimes I want to cast a 2 stack pyro (3 second cast), so I will preemptively be spamming my pyroblast as the scorch is casting. Sometimes the scorch will crit resulting in 3 stacks of heating up. However, the pyro that I was spamming will only benefit from 2 stacks even though I have 3 stacks. Further, the pyro eats the heating up (with max stacks) as if it was a 1.5 second cast when it is not. This is some sort of timing bug that SHOULD NOT happen. Scorch is not a projectile, and it is critting immediately as the cast finishes.

This bug really breaks the flow of fire casting as I have to stop the bugged 3 second cast to cast the correct 1.5 second cast pyro. I am begging Blizzard fixes it.

this is an unavoidable latency effect due to spell queuing, which long story short, lets you cast your next spell as soon as the previous one ends instead of (previous end + latency).

you might be able to use console commands to turn off spell queuing, but you’ll probably dislike that even more than this.

I will happily turn off spell queuing if it is an option. If it is not, Blizzard, please make it an option. Fire would feel so much more smooth if the designed mechanic worked as intended.

I do not think this is unavoidable. I think Blizz is capable of fixing this
