I was in beta and everything was working fine. I was on PvP as Horde. I woke up this morning and decided I wanted to try Alliance side before the beta ends so I deleted all my toons on horde side and tried to create an Alliance toon. I got through creation and made my characters name (green check mark present) once I clicked finish the game does not proceed. Finished gets greyed out but I am still able to edit my character. Im even able to go back and change it completely. I tried remaking a horde Toon to see if Alliance being full was the issue and I still have the same problem. I switched to PvE and still unable to play. Its like I bricked the beta for myself. Restarting and reloading didnt change anything either. Anyone have a fix? At this moment I am unable to play the beta I paid for.
Clearing Cache did not work. Uninstalling and re installing did not fix issue.
Im assuming it is something with WoW servers (In game mail/whispers) are having the same issue.
My issue is resolved. Had to wait 30min on the character creation screen and it finally went through and I was able to play.
I would try deleting the Cache file and relogging
Just tried that. Unfortunately that did not fix the issue. Still cant proceed.
I wonder if it is due to server lag, did you try and wait a few minutes after hitting finish or is it just grey period?
I thought it could be server lag too. I let is sit for 20 min and made breakfast. Came back and its still greyed out. Im able to edit my character still also. Tried refreshing my name with the randomizer too (Check mark green) and still cant get pass it.
Did you try using the task manager to force close it all? Sorry if i am making annoying suggestions… lol.
I’ve force closed and restarted my PC. Right now I uninstalled and reinstalling to see if that fixes.

I noticed this last night, after clicking and the button going gray, had to wait maybe a couple minutes to get logged in. Probably either a data base getting loaded down withe characters, a new name checker or verification in the background, etc.
okay i will give it time and just let it sit longer.
There has been a large number of what may be database issues, affecting whispers, invites, mail, etc. So, it may very well be affecting character and login servers as well.
Sadly, these may not be looked into until Monday (the last minute restart on Friday was to fix a few things “before the weekend”, according to a dev).

This seems like it has the potential to be an actually huge problem. I have nothing of substance to add but I do want to keep this bumped for visibility.

Just leave it there. It takes few minutes but the character will finally load and you can log in and play.
