Hidden Dungeon Entrances

I was watching some coverage on the Dungeon podcast, and heard something that I had missed in my first listen. I recall them saying that with the new dungeons, there would be hidden entrances for players of the opposite factions to be able to get into them. However, during the podcast they made a comment to the effect of “It’s OK if those entrances don’t exist. We’re OK with not every dungeon being for every faction” and one of them joked “When Alliance gets an entrance to RFC, we’ll talk about giving Horde a way into HoT.”

So I guess the question I have is, are those dungeons going to get “secret” entrances, or did the devs bail on the idea and try to deflect with a joke? It’s seeming like the latter, but I am hoping they go back and add such entrances to these lower level dungeons, or at the very least have them going forward for other cross-faction dungeons.

I do think it would be nice to have a secret alliance entrance to ruins of lorderon as they do get quests in there unlike RFC.

blizzard also talked about adding hall of thanes as a way to balance things out since horde has RFC but if you look at the dungeons alliance has roughly 15-20 more dungeon quests than horde and theres no horde equivalent to stockades the devs were just deflecting and making jokes because there alliance fan boys and hate the horde

the new horde dungeon in our city is put right on the edge with no guards so alliance can run it and added quests while alliance dungeons are deep in the heart of there citys and even dungeons like deadmines which is the alliance equivalent of wailing caverns has 0 horde quests while alliance get a handful of quests to do WC

the bias is insane they put tons of cool new things in alliance only zones like the new torch item while horde got nothing alliance have comments about the tons of new quests in wetlands and red ridge while playing on horde we have like maybe 10-20 new quests in the entire 1-30 journey

I mean, not everyone has seen the clear dungeon portal in the dwarf excavation site in the southern barrens, but its there, boarded up.

Always thought if would be nifty to put another entrance to stockades in a sewer grate near that farm directly west of the entrance to Stormwind. Go prison break an orc or something as horde, make an escort quest of it.

Also you can get that torch as a horde character. I got it while grabbing my red defias mask.

We forgetting stockades also exists for Alliance? RoL is at least not very deep into the city. Stockades and Ol Ironforge are so much worse to get too :joy:. RFC is pretty deep I won’t lie, but it also kind of sucks anyway and is an ez skip even for horde.

Yeah but we have quests for RoL, Last i checked there are no horde quests for stockades.

There are horde quests for hall of thanes though.

This is a brilliant idea. There’s an Orc boss already in there (Targorr the Dread), could make him friendly flag for Horde or something.

Or add another Orc and have him task you with killing Targorr and help him escape afterwards.

doesnt change the fact that its only in alliance territory theres no excuse to why there isnt a torch on a body in silverpine forest to make things fair for horde but they didnt even bother

You don’t sound like a proud member of the Horde if you’re concerned about being treated fairly.

We take the cool things regardless of alliance territory.

Alliance have always gotten the extra sprinkles since Vanilla. They admitted they didn’t even have time to flesh out most the horde zones and quests before releasing vanilla.

RFC loot is terrible and there are very few quests in there, and the mob xp has always been mediocre. Getting to horde dungeons is way easier for alliance than it is for horde to get to theirs, even with all the additions. I don’t think things need to necessarily be 1 for 1, but even their quest loot over shines ours by far.

I’ve been an alliance player for way longer than horde, but the bias is apparent. Blizz needs more Horde players helping make content.

Horde used to have better travel with the zepplins, but now the boats are definitely better.

At least we finally got some bag upgrade quests for the horde.

I broke into hall of thanes like a true member of the horde and took that necklace and staff as my trophies. I even shout chatted in darnassian that the alliance can hide uner their mountains but nothing can stop the horde. Just so the elves of the alliance could spread the word of our strength and honor. Blood and thunder!

They didn’t bail on the idea, they left the idea up in the air to encourage exploration and discovery. There was no definitive we’re going to do this.

“I don’t play horde but I know that alliance gets it better.”

Meanwhile alliance guards across Azeroth are all level 35-45 in quest hub/cities. Horde guards though? Level 55 all of them. This pattern holds true in Riverglades!

Alliance have two level 55 guards 15 yards in front of the gate to their city. They are so far away from the gate I’m willing to bet a level 60 priest could easily walk past with mind soothe. And thats it, every single NPC in the entire fortress is level 35-45 except the commander which is just a level 55 not even an elite lmao. Meanwhile the horde city/quest hub in Riverglades, I counted 4 guards all level 55 right next to the entrance. Couldn’t get close enough to see inside but wouldn’t surprise me if like every other horde quest hub the other guards are also level 55.

Play alliance but can see the bias? Please be quiet. You have not experienced level 60 horde rogues camping FPs. Piles of corpses in Menethil, SS, Ashenvale, Darkshire, etc. Once the first wave of people hit 60s and finish getting decent dungeon / pvp gear, questing on alliance pvp realms becomes miserable.

They already have. We have the goblin quest to get into deadmines and the sewer key to get into dalarans dungeon. Idk what the alliance has but they can sneak over the mountain to hop into rol. I know that much.

Wait what? I knew about the Dalaran dungeon questline but I must have completely missed anything related to Deadmines.
Unless you meant Gnomer

Higher level, but less guards. Alliance also have more hubs than horde across the world. It’s a weird balance if at all, but alliance hubs have the numbers horde does not. I can say that the number definitely matters level 60s still get wrecked by a group of 45 elite guards.
