This has been happening off and on for the last two weeks. Legitimately one of the more annoying bugs b/c it stops you from forming groups, either in questing or dungeons. It seemingly keeps getting fixed, then coming back.
Please fix this.

+1
Been having this problem and its generally 3-5 minutes between sending a message or invite, and it actually being received by the other party.
It’s like a really weird game of telephone
I’ve also noticed an extreme delay in creating characters. I’ve hit the complete button, waited a full minute, then gone back and started looking through other races only to suddenly flip back to my character list minutes later with my newly created character who’s complete button I hit almost 5 whole minutes ago.
Same with sending mail
It’s literally unplayable if you’re trying to do any group content. I’m trying to find a DPS. The easiest one to find and we are like 2-3 minutes behind in whispers and invites.
me to even making a new toon is why to much lag wait time lol
Agreed. Please fix.
In before the classic elitists start posting “Keep it in the game! My immursioN!”
Yea, it’s been impossible to make dungeon groups
This happened to me this morning when I created a Druid.
I submitted a bug report assuming it was console/controller-related, but come to find ingame messages and invites were also delayed.
Very weird server-connectivity behavior.
The interesting quest here would be to ask if its effecting people on the same cluster as you or if its only cross cluster. There are technically 2 beta servers. Beta PVP and Beta PVP2, and like the AH thing was only effecting PVP2 and not Beta1.
Would be good to know if the invite stuff is only between the 2 or happening on the same server as well.
Playing on a PvE server only. Took two minutes to send a whisper and over 2 minutes to invite a random person standing right next to me. It’s really bad
So the servers are backend only and you can’t actually see what one your account is on without running a script. But like the people standing next to you on our layer might be on say “PVP2” but you characters are all on “PVP1” It’s very seamless in the actual play world but It’s not in how its coded and interacts.
Beta or not this has happened far to many times now. this will happen on full release as well
This issue is making the game borderline unplayable right now. Party requests and player to player whispers are taking 3-5 minutes to go through. Something has to be done to fix these issues ASAP…
Seems likely to me this is a growing result of the Betas popularity. They have somewhat expressed they never expected the Beta to be played by this many or for them to play it as consistently as if it were already released. Its likely a result of their current Beta servers being overwhelmed on weekends.
I’m going to guess it continues to be an issue with deconfliction with the two-name system as it seems to be affecting directed whispers, mail, and invites.
Glad they are sorting it out now.
As far as getting upset about it, its beta.
This is what it is for.
I am not going to pretend like i know anything about the technical side, but, even though it’s a beta, it’s more than fair to be upset about this.
A 4 minute delay on whispers and group invites effectively stops you from reaching out to ppl in LFG queue, or from grouping with someone who may have tagged a quest mob you need. This is pretty jarring to the entire gameplay experience.
It’s doubly frustrating b/c it’s been fixed, and then come back, multiple times though out the beta. This would be incredibly disconcerting if it makes it to live
Hoping this gets fixed, but it’s the weekend and Blizzard staff are probably off till Monday.
This is still happening today ![]()
still today too. Dont worry guys, the full game launches in like 3 weeks, surely all these major bugs and glitches will be fixed!
