I’m sure this has been mentioned but I want to say disabling experience gain is vital to this, in my view.
Allowing people to stop leveling would encourage twinks and alts grinding for dungeon gear for bgs. A constant stream of people interesting in doing low level dungeons, so if this game attracts new players as it goes on, they will have a more active market for players to form groups with. A game that wants the journey to be substantial to the experience need s to encourage more activity across all the level brackets to remain vibrant.
We don’t want everyone at 60 and bored. This gives them something to do or allow some players to maximize the content in a given level range before moving on to the next tier, as its easy to level up without getting al the available story, quests or dungeons.
Please consider this,.

Allowing players to scale down their own level (locking spells/ranks in the process) would make more sense to me.

Interesting. So you mean slide your level down and your higher level spells becoming “grey” - how would it work for equipment though? I guess you keep multiple sets?
Equipment would need to scale its benefits down as well, and special on-hit or proc stuff would need to be turned off entirely. For balance.

Sounds interesting. I still think a simple “turn on XP” would be an easier implement in the short term, and wouldn’t involve needing to make judgments about gear scaling, which seems like am involved process to ensure balance. But does sound interesting if you have a max level and want to do some low level stuff at level appropriate range without needing an alt

no silliness with the exp
if you dont want exp, stop killing mobs and doing quests
I’m fine with it.
As long as level-off players don’t get queued into BGS with level-on players.
I think more people willing to do low level content is a good thing. some people don’t want to level and also want to kills things - and I don’t think that harms anyone and probably helps some people who want to do dungeons and there’s more people willing to go because they want to farm a piece. were supposed to want to do this stuff more than 1 time a level (but also not farm them for xp)

Other posts here seem to suggest this was already a thing - though I don’t think it should be. Is there, or is there NOT an NPC to disable XP gain?

Twinks are great for keeping bgs and dungeons active in lower brackets. players age out of them and they become ghost towns without new players levelling after the initial rush. If in one years someone new decides to try the game out they will have a harder times finding groups etc. This encourages people with something fun to do in a different section of the game from end game
They can play each other in their own brackets.
We’ve already seen what happens when you let twinks dominate players in lowbie bgs.
Let them. That’s something fun and competitive for people. BGs are not important to people who are focused on levelling. if you do care about bgs in lower brackets, you too would turn off your top and go at it farming dungeons for gear. THIS IS GREAT!!! we want there to be reasons to explore every part of the game, not just the end game and then grind raids.
I don’t think twinks should be allowed in PvP environments period. Its always been only a way to sit their and cheese PvP at it breaking points.
No.
This was a disaster in Vanilla and Blizz fixed it for a reason. Lowbie BGS are for leveling players wearing typical leveling gear. They are not a turkey shoot for twinks.
Totally good and normal - farm 5 mans at 60 for bis
Totally bad - farm 5 mans for 29 bis - you must keep levelling.
these are reasons to keep low level content alive after the initial rush.
Yes.
Also you will be able to purchase level 60 blue gear with honor, which is roughly equivalent to dungeon blues.
Not bad, unless you plan on using level-off to permanently stay in that bracket. WHich ruins lowbie BG participation over time and gives newer players bad first experiences in PvP.
Low level content will do just fine. Twinking is what ruined it the first time around. I was there, I remember.
The reason is seemed bad was because everyone was a twink. but guess what? if there weren’t any twinkls those bgs would be empty. I think its better when they’re content full of people and life instead of dead zones. Don’t miss the forest for the trees. we want these brackets active and this is a way to encourage it. we don’t want people just making their awseome 60 toon, we want people making awesome level 29 toons. because that’s fun and keeps the game interesting and busy across all the level ranges
Nope, thats not what happened.
Look, it’s pretty clear your sole motivation for this change is so you can live out you fantasy of mowing down entire teams in WSG by spamming Sinister Strike over and over again with your level 29 BiS weapons chanted with crusader, but that’s not happening this time around.
You are going to have to compete fairly this time, sorry.
Put the npc in the city that disables xp. Twink concept and those that play them have been around longer than a lot of you have been playing the game
