Well I hope this is enlightening to what feedback they’ve seen.

Only quote I cared about

“We don’t want dungeons to be one and done. And I think that’s where we landed”

The 20% is a step in the right direction. Not gonna really change much but it’s clear they cannot ignore the issue.

Either way. I’ll be rushing lving and getting to endgame. One way or the other.

You’re only increasing dungeon mob xp from current levels by 20%? What a joke. Completely in dissonance to your line that you don’t want these dungeons to be one and done. You just cemented that they will absolutely be one and done.

I’m so happy that killing a level 20 elite in a dungeon has gone from 30xp to 36xp. It’s a joke.

Listening to the dungeon topic felt a lot like “blizzard knows best”

Like you’ve heard all of this feedback from people and the negative sentiment on the state of things and the attitude is the usual “it’s still beta and we can tune it BUT here is why our way is correct and we’re probably not changing things anymore” 20% buff to monster experience does not even scratch the surface of the current problem.

Hearing a developer peddle the exhausted “dungeons are the optimal levelling way in era” is insane. That is extremely untrue and has always been untrue.

well I guess we’re 20% closer to where it should be, but we’ve still got 80% to go. Hopefully we’ll get there before November 4th.

I mean. The simple fact is if people are still unhappy it’ll continue to dominate the discourse. As it stands they still one and done throw aways I won’t do unless the are on the optimal quest path…or has a wand quest reward…

Fix the dungeon XP, stop listening to classic andys and streamers trying to kill this game. You guys had this amazing chance for a new start and instead are already kill the game.

These devs are speed running what the devs were doing in legion, bfa and SL. You are 100% correct

I’m glad blizzard isn’t backing down on discouraging people sitting in dungeons all day every day 1-60. That retail style gameplay is not needed in classic plus.

Blizzard, I love these podcasts. It’s great hearing from the team and getting to know everyone and where their passions lie. Keep up the good work!

See you at 60 sitting in dungeons all day! Campfires warm

Not a surprise. This is now more reason to rush to end game on the first few toons. The rest will now be picked up with kill quests and rested xp. Just how it is.

More Anti dungeon Bs, we will grind in the world and skip all your cool new encounters as they are not rewarding at all.

Our work is providing some results. We’ll keep advocating to bump it up a bit more. Blizzard understands how unpopular those nerfs were.

I guess i’m just confused because I was told this was an MMO but the devs really want me to just quest solo in the open world.

See because they had been playing the beta then theyd know the current open world experience is people declining group invites to play solo and if someone does join your group, by a miracle, layering sends you to different phases and they end up leaving immediately.

Genuinely why are dungeons being obliterated?

It literally does not affect you in the slightest way. Not sure why you feel that way about it.

And if it doesn’t. The immediately disband the second they get the mob they want. Nobody invites me unless I’m tagging their mobs and the the spam comes in. It’s actually annoying having to decline them as I’m fighting.

Still no word or response to the RP-PvP community. Not even an acknowledgement of the largest thread in the general disucssion and one of the most asked/liked questions in the multiple Q&A threads. What a slap in the face to a large part of your player-base.

RP-PvP or bust.

Hi All,

One thing I did want to make sure we mentioned that did NOT get mentioned in the podcast is that we are also fixing a bug with XP in dungeons.

In previous beta builds, the XP earned per kill was awarded based on the highest level person in the group. If you are running, say, Deadmines with 4 level 20s and 1 level 25, the amount of XP you get as a level 20 is extremely low per kill. With this fix, you should now receive XP based on your level relative to the mobs,as intended.

This fix combined with the 20% increase to base kills in dungeons should make it feel better and more even.

XP gain is not going to be what it was in era, but it should feel significantly better now. We understand that some of you want to dungeon cleave to 60, but this is another one of those things that has to pass muster with our core pillars. That playstyle being the optimal way to level does not pass that muster and we need to hold firm on these balance adjustments.

As it stands now after the adjustments, with perfect xp/hr play, the leveling rates in dungeons will be very close, if not equal to the speed you can level with optimal questing play. That illustrates how much better it was to level in dungeons in Era.

Maintaining a healthy balance here is vital to our “World is the Main Character” and “Nurture and Protect Social Experiences” pillars together. Once the scales tip and dungeons become the clear winner, it has a cascading effect on player behavior and we have to consider that impact holistically.
