[WoW Forever Beta] Devouring Contagion talent bugged: Erroneously deducts mana cost on passive propagation (jump)
Spirit Airline - PVP
Category:
Class / Talent Bug
Description:
When a target afflicted with Devouring Plague dies while the player has the Row 5 talent Devouring Contagion active, the passive jump mechanic to a nearby target erroneously re-deducts the full baseline mana cost of Devouring Plague from the Priest’s mana pool.
The background script appears to be calling an internal player command (similar to a manual /cast) rather than a passive status application/aura propagation. Because of this, the engine treats the automated jump as a brand-new manual spell cast. Furthermore, if the player’s current mana pool is lower than the required cost of Devouring Plague when a target dies, the jump mechanic fails entirely.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Spec into the Devouring Contagion talent in the Shadow tree.
- Note your current mana percentage.
- Engage a pack of multiple targets. Cast Devouring Plague on Target A.
- Kill Target A while Devouring Plague is still actively ticking.
- Check your mana pool immediately upon Target A’s death. Observe that the full mana cost of Devouring Plague has been deducted a second time as it jumps to Target B.
- (Optional) Repeat the test while at extremely low mana (below the cost of a single Devouring Plague cast). Kill the target and observe that Devouring Contagion fails to trigger or jump at all.
Expected Result:
The Devouring Contagion talent should passively transfer the remaining duration of Devouring Plague to a nearby enemy as a free status application without checking or consuming player resources.
