How PvP Progression in World of Warcraft: Forever Works

World of Warcraft: Forever reimagines PvP (Player vs. Player) progression with an approachable system built around Honor, Rank Points, seasonal goals, and familiar original ranks. Players can earn rewards through battlegrounds, PvP quests, weekly journey tasks, and gear upgrades while working toward iconic titles such as High Warlord and Grand Marshal.

This is a very good change that will be met with vitriol and anger by the pvp community despite it being a positive to everyone but those who play a unhealthy amount.

Blood and glory, Lok Tar!

I can’t wait to be a High Warlord.

You should add something like brawlers guild but for dueling.

This sounds so much better than the retail PVP system.

Projecting vitriol is going to cause vitriol. As someone who farmed and helped others farm rank 14, these changes seem fantastic.

Not a difficult goal, but yeah, I hope some of it gets adopted in retail.

Both things are good for PvP.

When you say you are “staying true to its roots” I really hope you can bring back the exclusivity of the higher ranks. In original vanilla, seeing someone with rank 14 gear was truly an incredible sight. When I log into era, everyone has rank 14 and it feels so watered down. Can you give us any idea on how long each rank will take and will it still look impressive to wear the rank 14 weapons? Or will we look just like everyone else?

The people who grind for 15 hours a day in the easy game mode unironically call themselves casuals

So we’re back to rewarding time over skill.

It’s quite literally the opposite.

Well since everyone wants it.

For real though, I find it funny that they’re still doing seasons in WoWF. Isn’t that one of the main things that classic players gripe about in retail?

EDIT: Haha, they moved it to the WoWF general forum!

They really gotta clarify what “season” means. Are we losing progression/rewards?

To be honest there’s a lot about WoWF that just makes me wonder why it necessitated a whole different game, where people would have to start over. I mean do the new game as well if you want, I guess. Plenty of people happy with a fresh start I’m sure. But why keep obvious improvements out of the main game?

I don’t think needing to revisit the 10 week grind every “season” is going to be fun with alts. Even if you get a “legacy point” for your alt progression.

Are the rewards going to change each “season” or is it just the same gear every season?

The primary demographic

This is a really good question.

There is a chance to add arena to Forever, in a thematic way, that won’t put a permanent strain on the battleground system. Lasting a month, once every 3 months, a Travelling Arena Caravan arrives in Darnassus and Undercity. Bringing a long-lost social experience of a tournament environment. Frenzied fans, aspiring duelists, the food, the smells, the cheers!

1v1, 2v2, 3v3, and 5v5 brackets open for sign-ups in the major cities the week before. During the games, new quests, achievements, and fishing opportunities, along with the ultimate prize: a Tournament Champion Tabard.

This is a fun way to add a game mode iconic to Forever that doesn’t feel like the run-down, exhausted retail ladder, but still gives a large portion of the player base a competitive outlet.

The only complaint I have about this is the tokens tied to rank for epic weapons.

Will pvp ranks go up the more you play, or will you degrade at a certain point?

Meaning: If I play 10000 BG’s, will i reach rank 14, or will it be 10000 BGs + fighting to keep a spot in the top 1% so I hit rank 14 when the update happens like it used to be.

Why can’t we have a system that rewards skill instead of just time investment?

Something like RBGs with a rating system.

Also please do something to make r14 hard to get, it should be an exclusive title, not just something everyone gets.
