Anti-Dungeon Leveling/Dungeon Enjoyers People - Why?

Let’s keep this civil and have a discussion in good faith. I am a dungeon enjoyer, I loved being able to level by running dungeons with my WoW friends I have accumulated over 20 years of playing, as well as my family. I have also done the quests. All of them, multiple times. I have the Lore master achievement from Wrath prepatch back in ye olden days.

Can those of you who are happy about a dungeon mob and quest XP nerf clearly explain here why and how you think that is a net benefit to the ENTIRE community? We have had discussions ad nauseam about how you think it will keep players in the open world, foster communication between players, make the world feel more alive, encourage collaboration, promote the “journey” as the focus of the game (journey can be interpreted multiple ways, your journey is not mine, not mine yours), etc.

We have also had all the dungeon enjoyers (self included) clearly explain that removing our preferred playstyle as a viable/comparable option to questing will not bring the desired result.

Layering technology will balance players throughout the game world, most layers will be indistinguishable in terms of population. Dungeoners that are pushed to questing so that their leveling experience doesn’t take abnormally long will just optimize their quest route to minimize the amount of questing they have to do, since they don’t want to do it in the first place. Those same dungeoners will likely skip group quests or over farmed “collect” quests, since these tend to have crappy drop rates and competition for mob tags will be high (dynamic spawning could fix this).

No amount of dungeon nerfing and preferred playstyle management by the developers is going to force this social engagement that a small minority of the community desperately wants. If we don’t want to actively engage with strangers in game (and some of you are WEIRD), we’re not going to. We’re simply going to blast quests in the most time efficient manner possible and power level our way to 60, where the game actually starts.

Pure spite against people who have friends far as I can tell.

This topic has been beat to death on several threads. Go read those.

This is Blizzard’s design philosophy for WoW Forever and the audiende theyre trying to reach.

If you are this vehemently opposed to the changes, maybe you’re not actually the target audience and you’d enjoy one of the other versions of WoW which cater to the speed leveling mindset.

Nope. The way this works is it has to be loud and constant for blizzard to awknowledge it. It will continue to be talked about until something is done.

I’m already posting in every single one of those I can find, as well as cross posting on Reddit and Twitter. It is very important that we get this message out to all the people who enjoy playing this game like me. We love WoW, we want the best possible experience for EVERYONE.

We want to play the game the way we want to, and we want you to play it the way you want to. I cannot wrap my head around why a portion of the playerbase is trying to force everyone to play the game one specific way if they want to level quickly.

There are justifiable reasons for wanting to hit level cap quickly: limited time off of work, families, children, school, work, preferring end game content over leveling content to name a few.

Honest truth is the devs don’t even play the game. They don’t know what community or being out in the world even means. Some people want to avoid fighting 50 people for mob tag on boars.

Ok keep yelling at the clouds champ. They just added yet another XP nerf, this time to open world content. Theyre squashing speed leveling wherever they see it.

Lol good luck with that.

Nothing’s set in stone bud. That’s how this works. It’s feedback. If you’re so concerned about us rushing maybe we should just gut quest xp too? No matter what you do. We will rush to 60 and ignore your journey. You’re the ones angry at what other people doing which has no effect in you.

Can you please provide a source?

I just checked all the blue text posts on both forever sides. Nothing mentioned so I assume he’s speaking nonsense as always.

No doubt, but i’m trying to get people talking about this as much as I can. It’s important for a lot of us.

“dungeon” wasn’t a “preferred playstyle” in vanilla. it was something you did while leveling. maybe you did some dungeons several times. you didnt get to 60 by aoe grinding dungeons. i’m kinda tired of this larping “back in 2004 we just did dungeons, it was the default ‘playstyle’” like thats bs youre talking about classic in 2019

they are attempting to make this game feel like that, to be closer to vanilla. if you love dungeon grinding from classic so much, go play era! you can do the exact same dungeons as many times as you like

Ah look you’re back. It was preferred to you. You don’t speak for anyone but yourself. If it wasn’t preferred this discourse wouldn’t be happening. Yet it is.

It’s clearly obvious the dungeon spammers never played vanilla and are attempting the hardest to gatekeep forever.

Was there on my holy priest spamming dungeons as healer. Anything to avoid desolace. I don’t think you’re the one who was there.

The world is the main character, not Scarlet Monastery.

oh yeah, avoiding the infamous desolace, in 2004 when it was brand new content and full of quests and players. can you just stop lying?

Keep telling yourself that once the world’s dead as always and the 60s are doing the content they came for.

Yea. It was an ugly purplish barren wasteland full of nothing interesting. It was bad then. It is bad now. The fact you think it takes years to come to this conclusions astounding. You could stop lying too by pretending everyone in vanilla played like you but I know you won’t lpl
