Forever Winners and Losers

Disclaimer: This isn’t a thread to whine in. Just general thoughts from the community.

Who are your winners in Forever when it comes to classes and specs? Who are the losers?

The losers are “everyone who bought the hype at blizzcon”

The winners are classic Andys who get another era release

I was really looking forward to have a chance to introduce my friends to my favorite hobby, but there’s no way they’d stick around for this horrible anti social questing expierence and lack luster game play. Never mind the horrific bigotry in every chat channel

loser would be cat with the recent patch . . .

Winner ? would say demonology warlock, which is a fully viable tree it seems now (i don’t speak about the overall balance)

Theres no world where this goes well cuz people are feral in the forums.

Losers: Mage, Rogue, Warrior, PvPers, Dungeon levelers. RP-PVP’ers

Winners: Shamans, Priests, Hunters, Paladins, PVE’ers,

Neutrals: Druid, Lock.

Mage- Simple rotation, missing some aoe damage, went soft with talent changes.
Rogue- Barely got changed from its classic self. Most damage is white damage, boring/slow rotation. Still good in pvp but with other classes getting such major buffs and changes, rogues are hardly half the threat they used to be. Stealth detection is at an all time high. “highest dps class” means nothing when 60% of your damage comes from watching white hits and spending combo points on slice and dice.
Warrior- They will scale with gear, but going strictly off beta, they are infinitely kitable and lack the gear to scale into their damage. I suspect they will be winners by the end of beta.
Pvpers- one battleground and no leveling track.
Dungeon levelers- No leveling track, they wanted to ignore forever wow and hide in a dungeon from level 10-60.
RP-PVPers-I suspect we get our server announced this week. in the case we don’t, we somehow lost one of the most populated communities that exist in the game because blizz doesnt know what they’re doing.

Shamans: Great damage, good self heals,
Priests: Great damage, Good self heals, wands hit like trucks.
Hunters: Ridiculous damage, pets doing even more than usual.
Paladins: Blizzards golden boy. Reimagined talents, High damage, high self heals, bubble, bop, undead race+class combo. Easily biggest winner of forever wow.

Pve’ers: The world is your oyster, dungeons are cool and new loot tables seem great. New encounters in the world, new zones and quests, lots of hidden stuff to find and enjoy.

Literally the only people I’ve seen remake positively on their classes are hunters going “wow such damage” even the paladins are unhappy and they are pretty unanimously agreed to be eating the best of all of us

Wet blanket.

Winners: Hunters, Hunters and Hunters, Pally/Druid

Losers: Warriors, Mages

…Regardless that doesn’t really change the fact you didn’t reply to the post with anything that was actually on topic. While that may be the case it’s kind of in the first line this isn’t really a place to whine. You’re free to go whine in one of the countless other threads full of it.

Winners: Blizzard

Losers: Players

as usual

Don’t bother whiners gonna whine just don’t engage

Holy Paladin seems like a complete loser to me. The Illumination nerf hurts, and Light’s Vigil feels pretty useless for healing given its high mana cost. It completely misses the single target tank healing playstyle that Holy Paladin has always maintained in Classic.

We are going to end up spamming Flash of Light like always and weaving in Holy Shock on cooldown when needed. The reduced Holy Light cast time from crits is a nice touch for emergencies, but Holy Light was never as mana efficient as Flash of Light anyway.

winners: can only say based on what feels more smooth to level which have been Warlock and Hunter (Pally is catching up after 20+)

losers: my magic classes (without a pet) who are desperate for +sp gear in order to get things done (priest, mage, and balance druid starting out before being forced to feral)

Winners: prot warrior feels so much better than classic prot warrior: sunder scales with ap, thunder clap scales with ap/usable in def stance, revenge REALLY scales with ap

Losers: prot warrior despite massive threat buffs prot has only lost in terms of mitigation, buffs to other classes likely wins them the raid spot

Winners: Priest, Rogue, Druid.

Due solely to Mind Soothe and Stealth being the 2 most powerful abilities in Forever when it comes to skipping “punishment trash” in dungeons (said punishment being no reason nor benefit towards killing non-bosses).

we’re not even 60 and neither is the first raid lol. I think its a little early for that.

I’m just looking for opinions. It’s like people watching. It can be kind of interesting.

Tanks:

  • Bear tanking feels incredible, but I expect nerfs given sometimes I have to Maul just to burn rage on AoE pulls. Absolutely delivers the playstyle of the unga bunga murder tank. Having a build style for SP instead of Agility is pretty cool, and I hope they keep it.
  • Prot warrior feels the same as ever for now, but the buffs to Shield Slam are exciting; shame we don’t get to play with it during this beta. 40 will be when I decide which tank I’m maining.
  • I’m a Hordie so I never got to play Paladin earlier than TBC, it feels fine. Damage is extremely high, but I think I screwed myself/my healers going for a hyperoffensive Holy Wrath style build with 0 stamina instead of a Defender style turtle build with stam/+defense. At least I’ve stopped losing aggro.

Healers are winning with the new dungeon design actually being a bit challenging. Low level healing was always tedious. RoL’s gauntlet fights are actually fun. The raptor segment and level spike at the golem in Excavation Wetlands is demanding. I expect these dungeons to be brought down a bit though, it’s going to be jarring for people to be like “oh I can heal offspec” and then be hit by the severe demands of the raptors. My Holy Priest friend was definitely feeling the mana burden from being off Discipline, and I can see the difference that not having casting spirit makes for offspec healers I’ve pugged with.

mages feel really really bad lol. ngl.
