I know that Battlenet and games on it are not meant to work officially on linux, but WoW has had a thriving community on Linux for a long time and I played through most of Dragonflight on my Steam Deck via desktop mode and a small foldable bluetooth keyboard and mouse. Wasn’t ideal, but it ran well and wasn’t annoying the anticheat.
With WoW: Forever and controller support on the way, my interest in diving back in on a handheld device has skyrocketed, even more so since I’ve recently gotten my hands on an AYN Thor, and the most recent developments with the Armada fork of SteamOS has basically turned it in to a Steam Deck/Nintendo DS hybrid, and the thought of getting WoW Forever running natively on it is very enticing.
Posting this thread mainly to promote discussion about running WoW and it’s various versions on the increasingly popular high-end handhelds hitting the market as of late. If anybody has actually gotten Forever running smoothly on any of these devices, I know people have made the Steam Deck work, do share how it ran and any hurdles you’ve encountered.
