this is math. this is a buttload of free xp
Well done there. Basically a whole extra run’s worth of XP based on all of that. They so don’t want us running things more than once that they throw in an extra run for free lol.
I think grouping with 5 people bumps your exp split to something like 41% instead of 20%. I agree that the quest exp be reduced. Make it about 1.3x more than classic.
Bro, get over it. Imagine trying to make a game worse just for the sake of it. Just leave it be, its not a big deal.
How many times do people need to be told this isn’t Classic before it finally makes sense?
so actually I am trying to discuss this because a lot of people think leveling is accelerated.
So, this is more about why they are saying its not
Appreciate you fighting the good fight with math. It does seem fast to many folks. It seems that the main culprit is dungeon xp. However, I was able to get a dwarf shaman to 12 in 4 hours while competing for mob tags. Do the new quests align with the old quests for experience gain is something I wonder.
Actually it is, but neither has to do with the other. OP is just crying to cry. People are still going to want to run these dungeons again to collect gear, it’s all pretty good.
agree with that, and theres multiple conversations to have about it.
- is leveling speed being faster a good thing? I am open to being convinced on this
- Are devs even aware that its faster? they say its even. Do they want it this way?
- If the devs want it this way, why arent they saying so?
As of right now the xp from dungeon quests is way too high. After level 13 you no longer need to do a single quest out in the “world” of warcraft.
If this high amount of experience isnt reduced then no one will be questing or exploring the “world” of warcraft. With 5 dungeons to do from 20 to 30, why would you quest?
This is probably the biggest problem they need to fix, even before class changes.
Imagine a game with a world as big as this. The games name is “world” of warcraft not world of dungeoncraft or dungeon of warcraft. In this game all the player has to do is every dungeon once and they reach the end of the game.
No exploring, no quest. The entire 3d world is just there empty for nothing. Might as well just make org and sw a hub with portals to dungeons. Why does the rest of the world even exist?
If you really cant see that the dungeon xp is the number one problem right now, your nuts.
I leveled multiple classes to 20 some i just stopped at around 13. Thats because I got tired of how easy it was to get to level 20. 1 to level 13 or 14 in like 3 hours. After that one rfc, one wc, one rol and ur 20. How does that even make sense? Also, the only reason you dont get to level 21 is because of the cap. You would be 21 after three dungeons from 13…
They said they left the level grind the same but that was completely false. Its less than half the time as it used to be.
Imagine hitting 60 and no one explored a single zone. They just did the chains they needed for dungeons.
Azeroth is supposed to be the main character. Now its dungeons.
My man with the brain ![]()
As I countered in your other post.
- 75 XP per kill? Based on what formula are you getting this number. The basic formula was never officially shared, though I have found some reports that a basic, world mob should be returning XP = (Char Level * 5) + 45 (So at 18, that would be 135 XP for a mob of equal level). WC mobs are as high as 22 for Mutanus, meaning you could see up to 20% more exp per kill, but let’s say it’s just 10% as an average - 148 XP. Dungeon elites have a 2.5 exp bonus, meaning we’re seeing an average of 370 per kill. 5 man groups have an additional modifier, 1.4 more exp, with the total then divided by 5. Or.. ~103 XP per kill.
200 mobs would therefore net around 20k exp per run after, not 15k.
- The quest bonus only applies on the first run, however the exp from the classic formula allows the dungeon running to pull ahead on the second, third, and even fourth runs.
Sup how’s the new changes lookin
Still levelling a new character to check, but pretty excited about them, a definite improvement over yesterday!
Sounds like they had it right before the nerf. Remember that instance content was a key feature of vanilla wow and differentiated it from the competition. Well I’m sure you selectively don’t remember that because it goes against the invented narrative ![]()
Its not a free level either it takeds like an hour to do WC you could do 10-20 quests in that time in the open world including mob exp for those quests
It was a free level relative to running wc in classic. If you had a lan set up and ran side by side wirh someone, you in forever and them in era, you both run wc you get free leveled compared to them. It was broken af
Forever uses cata xp formula for mobs, so you get maximum xp for mobs of equal level, and get penalized for each level of difference in either direction
UPD. Nevermind that, got a little bit confused, you still get a bit more xp for higher level ones (up to +25% xp at 5 level difference)
Yes, but our baseline was level 18 up to a level 22 boss which is a cap of 20% in this dungeon.
Wow forever exp to lvl has a steep curve. By lvl 40 the increase in dungeon quest xp isn’t going to FEEL like as much as it does now.
Is getting through the first 20 levels 2-3 hours faster very important? Eh. You’re gunna probably play this game for hundreds of hours. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal.
Something y’all havent taken into consideration: dungeons take time to get to. You will be taking flight paths boats zepplins and traveling on ground to get to some of the further away dungeons. Travel is an exp lost that gets compensated by the increased questing exp.
