How can 3 Pet slots be real?

"Each pet family now has one ability completely unique to that family:

  • Bat Sonic Blast: Damage and spellcasting slow on target.

  • Bear Swipe: Damaging attack that hits 3 targets.

  • Bird of Prey (formerly Owl) Mine!: Damage and disarm target.

  • Boar Charge: Charge to and immobilize target and gain Attack Power on next pet attack.

  • Carrion Bird Demoralizing Screech: Damage nearby enemies and reduce their melee Attack Power.

  • Cat Prowl: Stealth and increase damage of next attack from Stealth.

  • Crab Pinch: Damage and slows the target’s movement.

  • Crocolisk Dismember: Damage and reduces the target’s healing received by 50%.

  • Gorilla Thunderstomp: Damages enemies in an area.

  • Hyena Tendon Rip: Movement slow and Bleed over time on target.

  • Raptor Savage Rend: Bleed over time on target.

  • Scorpid Poison: Stacking damage over time on target.

  • Spider Web: Immobilize target and damage over time.

  • Tallstrider Dust Cloud: Reduces target’s armor.

  • Turtle Shell Shield: Reduces damage taken and attack speed for 12 sec.

  • Windserpent Lightning Breath: 20-yard range damaging attack.

  • Wolf Furious Howl: Increase party members’ melee Attack Power."

All of these different pet families, each with a unique ability and yet only 3 stable slots.

Hunters need more than just 3 slots. A good number imop would be 5. I’m all for keeping the vibe of Vanilla but 2 +1 for training is just too low given you’ve gone to the effort of adding unique abilities.

To force you to make choices.

Welcome to classic, I wish for more slots. for sure.

some of those are less useful than you might be thinking. the choice is going to boil down to your 2 main content types, or an AOE & ST pet, and personal tastes.

Wish for more slots

With the way training pets are, its really more like 2 slots since you need an open slot to run around finding/upgrading new pet skills to train your main 2.

Sorta works out, 1 per spec… PvE/PvP

I think it’s pretty realistic. I have two cats and myself to look after and it’s a miracle if we can get through a week without one of us nearly starving to death. (joke)

Although if they added hunger, happiness and/or loyalty decay while stabled then we can consider more stable slots.

Not really, whenever you are bored you go out and train all skills and you are done. 3rd slot is back open

PvP Pet, PvE Boss bet, PvE AoE pet

That covers it well.

Ha, I kid. I wouldn’t mind it if they had “infinite pet slots” but you had to have your pets stabled at specific locations. Need your bat? Better travel to Brill where you left it. Need the wolf again? Hope you didn’t leave it in Orgrimmar.

Gotta work to have your cake! A later quest can introduce pet transportation for convenience but it’ll cost you :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Having limited choices actually gives you more expression

because op

Blizzard needs someone competent to fix the issues with the hunter class before launch. Three stable slots is absolutely absurd. A “Forever” version of the game needs to give hunters a large number of stable slots, especially if they want to retain them and keep them invested in the game long after the honeymoon period wears off.

you’re not a zookeeper :expressionless_face:

make another hunter alt

exactly. hunters always want to have their cake and eat it too :expressionless_face: you want a zoo full of animals, you have to feed em

“Make another hunter alt” This statement alone proves the point of every hunter asking to fix the stable issue. There isn’t nearly enough. If a class has to make multiples of itself, there’s a obvious problem with the class.

Classic WoW was always limited to three stable slots. It forces you to choose your pets wisely.

5 free slots, then 10g for each additional slot up to 10.

20g to house a raptor (danger money for the stable master that’s got to feed this thing)

Hey so I get you don’t like the hunter class and that’s cool and all, but trolling every hunter-related topic with " :expressionless_face: :expressionless_face: :expressionless_face: hunters :expressionless_face: :expressionless_face::expressionless_face: " is kind of obnoxious and not really contributing to meaningful discussion. Maybe find a topic for a class you’re actually interested in instead?

Anyway, as I’ve been saying in all these topics, I feel five paid slots is a fair amount. That or as someone else suggested, adding quests to increase our stable slots as we level to reflect meaningful progression and mastery of the class.

You’re already making that choice at the stable because you can have only one active pet. Having to grind up a new pet to fill a buff/debuff slot because 10 and 20 mans will always be a thing is just tedium. Why don’t we just add weapon skill and spell coefficient decay so you have to go pound that out before every raid.

I think 6 slots is the magic number. 3 dedicated to the pets you will permanently use, and 3 for cycling pets you’re learning abilities from. There’s no reason to stockpile like 20 pets, and you are only going to be training a few abilities on your perma-pets.

I agree for different reasons. I want a dungeon pet ST, Dungeon Pet MT/AOE support, Open World Pet MT/AOE, Open World Single target (specialized) with like 1 to test and examine, & 1 slot always open for training & stuff.

Just make more hunters
