Side entrances for Ironforge / Undercity dungeons?

I remember at the Blizzcon reveal, it was said that there would be “hidden entrances” to these dungeons to make it easier for the opposite faction to get into them. Are those just not implemented in Beta right now, or did those plans fall through?

As it is right now, even that short run into Undercity to get to the dungeon portal takes at least 2 corpse runs to get through the 100+ horde just standing out there ganking anyone on sight. I can imagine Horde characters have it WAY worse considering that the instance portal for Hall of Thanes is much deeper into Ironforge and has a whole host of guards and NPCs along the way.

For Lorderon make your first corpse on the opposite side of the portal … then ghost run to the “correct” side of the portal .. don’t stand too close or too far … then rez and run .. you will likley make it … to get to the back side of the portal you climb the mountains on the east side of the city and drop down over the wall and you will see the portal but are on the wrong side to enter it .. the horde will get mad and kill you .. which is what makes this approach work better .. if the players were less average human they would refuse to kill you and just stand there and taunt you … buuuuut that is not how humans work … so take advantage of it

Totally agree about Iron Forge though .. that must be one heck of a hard place to get to for the horde … much harder than for alliance to get to lorderon

huh

Just getting into Undercity, I get stunned/slowed/1shot as soon as I’m past the first little entrance door. Then I corpse rez as far forward as I can…and get stunned/1shot again and THEN I can corpse rez right in front of the portal to make it inside.

In loch modan, there is a new non-working portal that looks like it may eventually be a back door to the iron forge dungeon.

Yes and if it turns out that way, it does work well with the fact that they described it as we might have to carve our way in, carve in under the mountain sounds about right. Also cool that they are using a spot like that for something, when it was previously a tunnel to nowhere. Forever at its best!

Nothing compared to trying to get to hot as a lvl 14

It’s 45 minutes of die run forward as possible res get insta killed by guards from the base of the ramp to the great forge and into the throne room.

Even if the dying weren’t the case the run is way too long

There’s no side entrance to hall of thanes. It’s like their RFC version. Even Nora said “you might have to carve your way.” Which meant corpse run, I ain’t bothering with Halls of thane.

are the rewards from running HoT really worth it for horde? It would be like running to RFC as alliance

if the horde didnt have the quests in the dungeon available to them as parity with RFC you would never go there

if HoT and RFC are supposed to be mirrors of each other, it seems odd to keep comparing HoT to RoL

i really doubt it. I think it’s a little weird that horde has quests there, given the difficulty in getting there. but overall i won’t be running there while leveling my main. Maybe it’s worth it if there is a good twink item there, but that’s a different story.

100% agree with this too

You don’t have to go in through the front door - you can jump the wall in the back of the city, only die once, then rez super close to the portal and run in - with only 1 ghost run - that is what I am saying.

I was thinking I imagined them mentioning this at Blizzcon. I’m glad I wasn’t. I really hope they do add them in. It’s not really about getting gear for me it’s about being able to experience all the game has to offer. And for those on a pvp server you have to have tons of corpse runs and wasted time to get into HoT and Stockades. Seems to me that crossing the world to experience the dungeons is punishment enough. Not to mention you usually don’t get quests either.
