We need to talk about Dungeon XP in Forever

I’m really enjoying WoW Forever. It’s been a lot of fun. However, I have a BIG issue…

BRO… YOU CANNOT GIVE US 36 XP FOR KILLING ELITES IN DUNGEONS!

That is just WILD.

And before you say it, I don’t care if the quests give you more XP. There are two things wrong with this.

First, if I wanted to just quest, I would JUST quest. For me, I like to mix it up. I quest for a bit, and then I do dungeon runs for a bit. I want something for the time I’m investing into this game, and 36 XP is NOT it.

Don’t force something on players who have been playing this way for 20+ years.

Second, it’s one thing to nerf our XP when we’re getting run through a dungeon by someone who is a much higher level. I don’t like it, but I get it. However, if you’re in a proper group, you need to give us the XP we deserve.

THIS CRAP HAS GOT TO GO!

With this system, Blizzard does not value the time I’m investing in the game.

So what if I want to spend my time running the same dungeon back to back because I’m trying to get a drop? That’s my choice. If you’re that concerned about people running dungeons repeatedly, put a cooldown on the dungeon.

But this crap of getting 36 XP for killing dungeon elites is NOT going to fly.

Give us the XP we deserve for the time we’re investing. Stop punishing players for choosing to play the game the way they’ve enjoyed playing it for over 20 years!

another intelligent person joins the fray. Good on you for calling out this ridiculous design

“but it owns the boosters!”

WTB full clear of WC so i can get 2.5 levels from a single dungeon run and skip the open world please

I’m not opposed to the dungeon exp nerf, but I feel it is too much.

Please explain that to me. There is a reason you get good XP in dungeons. They’re HARDER, and you need a group of five people to complete them!

I really can’t see ANY reason for this, and it makes absolutely ZERO sense.

Here, run this dungeon, possibly wipe multiple times, pay more for repairs at the end, and invest your time for absolutely no reward. Especially if you don’t get any drops or nothing drops that you can even roll on.

And the best part? You’re not going to get any XP for it either!

ENJOY!!

No. THIS IS TRULY UNACCEPTABLE.

A person’s time is their most valuable asset, and this system completely disregards that. It makes absolutely ZERO sense.

If that’s the case, then you need to make these solo dungeons. Why should I have to find four other people, deal with the added difficulty, risk wiping, and spend gold on repairs just to walk away with practically nothing?

HONESTLY… WE NEED TO BE RAISING HELL ABOUT THIS!

This is a game we’ve been playing for over 20 years. Running dungeons with a group, earning XP, and working toward better gear have ALWAYS been part of the experience.

Why are we being punished for playing the game the way we’ve enjoyed playing it for decades?

THIS JUST DOES NOT MAKE ANY SENSE!

Not one? You must have difficulty critically thinking.

You mean you cant dungeon spam to 60. Oh no, I guess you will just have to play the game.

Because you and other abuse it.

Doing the dungeons – nine of which they designed for this version of the game – is in fact playing the game.

You people are insufferable.

They already said why. They don’t want us to spam dungeons to level. It’s supposed to be bad for XP. Working as intended.

I think make mob xp nerfed as is, lower quest xp, and make bosses give large xp 1x a day.

Like in Hardcore, people would run their level appropriate dungeons once daily for the boss xp.

This would still allow people to run the dungeon multiple times a day for items but not for the bonus boss xp.

It would also dodge high level carries.

This way you get people to do dungeons more than once for quests.

The quests alone gives you like a level almost two levels. Even on beta. imagine that all the way to 60 it lets you bypass a lot of levels doing the dungeon once and if you want to go back afterwards for “loot” then by all means..

But it’s literally to stop the boosters and the mass amounts of people spamming the service in trade chat for days on end.. almost to the point that A. People don’t actually play the game and gain levels and B. You can’t even use the service chat for anything

These threads keep popping up and while I hate farming dungeons to level, all I can say is, 36xp for an ‘elite’ mob is probably a sign that they haven’t tuned any dungeons yet. That’s ALWAYS something in flux and they are probably rushing to get all the end dungeons/raids done and balanced. IF this is still an issue in late October I might be worried, but I DO agree that dungeon crawling shouldn’t be the most viable way to level.

AGAIN NO!

If that is the case force a class makeup for groups… or have diminishing returns after 3 or so runs.. STOP BACKING UP THIS TRASH …

100% agree.

Love the vibe and style of this post as well: Funny, but to the point. Amen, brother!

Mages now have one less way to make money to the detriment of the whole game.

Oh no. Anyway…

“Critically thinking” lmao. Are you trolling or self owning?

Currently dungeon quest make you level crazy fast which means you barely do any world questing then run each dungeon once.

After that we’ll be buying summons and paying for 60s to boost us through instance quest runs.

Are doing dungeons, which are IN the game, not actually playing the game? What a moronic mindset you RP’ers have.

And the way of doing that is to put XP in quest so boosters can sell runs?
