If you wanted to nerf warriors, why not tune our numbers more? Changing rage generation the way you did has basically killed the class. I honestly thought it was a bug but it has been confirmed by zirene that it is NOT a bug and intentional. We need serious clarity on this choice. Im holding out hope that you may have something “behind the scenes” but unfortunately as a warrior only player I will not be playing forever until this change is reversed or some serious clarity is given by the developer who decided to do this.
My biggest question is;
Why give us a NEW talent if it is mathematically impossible to use it unless we sit on our hands and not touch our keyboard to hit max rage?
Seriously we need clarity on this choice.

What’s the formula for rage generation right now?

Static mh/oh generation. Even when being hit by mobs rage generation is very minimal if its even there at all.

The formula is based on base weapon speed, so each weapon varies slightly, but for 1hrs it’s around 7-9 rage every 2-3 seconds, while most 2hrs are around 14-17 rage every 3-4 seconds.
Most offensive abilities cost 15, 20, or 30 rage, so you can see where the lack of periodic bursts results in sitting on your hands.
Rage gen is a huge problem right now and like OP said if they don’t fix this or give clarity I’m not playing Forever. I’m not asking to be top dps like vanilla I just want to be able to cast abilities and not just aa the entire fight.

Completely agree with you. I was defending blizzard so hard on this “No way its intentional, they just gave us a new ability to increase max rage” wow was I sadly wrong.

With the current rage normalization, which hasn’t been seen in any other version of wow, even cataclysm wasn’t this egregious, it will be impossible to use bloodthirst and whirlwind on CD no matter the gear level, let alone use any supporting abilities to help the raid or have excess rage to dump. It’s very very bad.

Very unfortunate what they have done. Even a “trust us on this” would be fine for me.

Yeah they completely killed the class with this. Warriors identity was thriving on crits and taking damage for extra rage. We don’t have mana or energy bars so we can’t cast on demand nor do we have the tool kits every other class has.

100% agree. I’d like something, but with the information we have, warrior dps will be dead at endgame. I truly believe it’s there attempt to stop the fury/prot “meta” that became a thing.

Warriors being cast into darkness forever is preferable to another iteration of vanilla wow where stacking as many DPS warriors as you possibly can, is optimal.
I assume they’ll do tuning at some point, but warrior scaling has always been a problem. Not sure how they’ll fix it, while making them viable, but I’m okay with a specific classic not being default overpowered the longer they can progress

Warrior in SoD was top of the mid pack at absolute best and rage wasn’t normalized. Obviously it’s achievable to balance. To force warrior not to scale better would require an entire redesign like what happened in cata. This is essentially classic + an entire class redesign is off the table for them.

The fun part of Warrior is getting that big crit that gives you extra rage in order to do big damage for a few seconds. With the changes to rage, you’re just a rogue who gets energy slower and swings their weapons slower.

I played a human warrior to twenty and got most of the best in spot warrior dungeon gear including weapons - I had the two hander from one dungeon and switched to the AH bought searing blade two handed with the two hand weapon impact enchantment on it.
My Warrior used up rage fast and I was only saved from boredom by hitting overpowers.
I had no idea blizzard switched to a rage=weapon speed formula. I guess it could work if they notched that up a bit? But yeah it sounds like Blizzard is full of Elf Blown mystic hippies who never went into battle and got enraged like me in the Marines when my MRE oatmeal cookie bar fell on the sand
when I was a Hella Horde side Orc invader in the human Sand Wastes.

If only something besides one of two extremes was possible.

you know what would be awesome but theres no way this is happening
a talent lets call it Brainless Rage
adds 20% to all sources of rage generation every 10 seconds in combat stacking up to 5 times
additionally deal 3% increased damage and take 6% increased damage per stack
100% extra rage from all sources, 15%increased damage, receive 30% increased damage
but you can right click/cancel aura the buff
this makes sense that a warrior loses their mind to rage the longer a fight goes on

Okay so its still like linear scaling instead of being bottom heavy. Gross. Ange Management isn’t even baseline either. What a drag.

the devs view warrior suffering as an unequivocal good
warriors must pay for all the sins of dominating both 2004 and 2019

i don’t think so, blizz is smart enough to know that killing fury to kill fury prot isn’t a great idea.
but we also can’t get to dw spec right now so maybe some hope there.
worst case if warrior really is performing that badly, even if they don’t fix it in beta there will be tuning patches along the way…unlike classic this is now a “live” game that will be subject to tuning as it goes along.
